The Dot Product: Vector Angles

avatar

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

In this video I compare how the dot product changes for different types of angles. When two vectors have an acute angle, that is less than 90 degrees, then the dot product is greater than zero. When two vectors are perpendicular, then the dot product is equal to zero. When the vectors have an obtuse angle, that is greater than 90 degrees, then the dot product is less than zero. Lastly, if the vectors are in opposite directions, that is the angle is 180 degrees, than the dot product is equal to - |a| |b|.
