Jeff Behary's Electrotherapy Museum Full of Restored Tesla Coils
In this video I have uploaded a rare 2007 interview of Jeff Behary inside his famous Electrotherapy Museum full of many restored centuries old Tesla coils, spark, and static electricity generators. This was the third interview in Dominique Radwanski's pilot episode titled Somewhere Out There, which never got aired. Dominique's co-host Rob Simon traveled to West Palm Beach, Florida, USA to meet up with Jeff Behary to get insight on the work of Nikola Tesla. Jeff Buhary is the founder and curator of the museum, which became his lifelong passion after noticing that an old Tesla device affected an unplugged TV. The first use of electricity for health purposes was when patients realized that an X-ray machine had alleviated a person's migraines. It was initially thought that the X-rays was the reason but eventually they realized it was the electricity. Soon after, hundreds of thousands of Tesla coils were produced claiming to cure all kinds of health problems. Of course, the US government stepped in to ban and destroy all of the devices, such as the Violet Ray electrotherapy device, in which the ban is still held in place. Violet Ray devices are still sold outside of USA.
Jeff Behary has also worked on modernizing the Tesla coils, including developing a portable power supply for an X-ray machine. Nikola Tesla had envisioned many applications of inventions, the grandest of which was transmitting electricity wirelessly through the air and free for all.

I'm so happy that I saw this.
I was reminded of what I wanted to ask you a few weeks ago. How much do you know about the mathematics behind electromagnetism. I'm specifically interested in the superposition of (electro) magnetic fields. Is this cumulative? also at what distance would this not be feasible if I'm powering small coils? What level of precision could I expect to achieve? (Hoping for a mm or at around 1T.)
Interesting questions. I'm just starting to learn up on the math so I won't be able to answer it right now. However, according to ChatGPT, it is cumulative and precision depends on your resources, for example having access to lab equipment: https://chat.openai.com/share/79a2b87f-ea30-4e23-96c3-b1f2471b6a4f
Well, I appreciate the input. I've looked into the best materials for the results I'm after and it looks very achievable. If you're up for it, I can give you some details later, and then you could come up with the mathematical prediction. I'd experimentally test this, but it may be a few months out given my current schedule. (Not to mention I'd need to design a machine for measurement that would align with my budget.)
Interesting. Sure send me what you come up with, and I will see if I can get something back. Would be good exercise for me to learn the math of it all.
I admire your love for math. Will do, I can't promise it will be very soon. I have a lot on my plate but I did write the experimental protocol for how I would use it. I want to prove I can pull off the coil and then maybe seek a grant, because most funding is only at a minimum of a post-doctoral graduate level.
Sounds good, looking forward to it!
