Will there be Water Scarcity in 100 Years?

When we mention water nature, we mention trees, water falls, and that moist top of frost on mountains and dews hills. Without any doubt, water is the basis of everything that has to do with nature, and while people suffer from tsunamis and it is very destructive, it is more disastrous without causing bringing down properties when draught comes. You see, the way I live my life is like there is abondance of water, and while I you tell a random person that there is a shortage of water, they would laugh at you, and say what happens to the entire water bodies that sorround the earth? What would actually happen if there were no usable water on earth?

First, let me work on that mindset that there is still a lot of water sorrounding earth. The earth is coverd with water, no doubt but most of this water are in solid form, or salty form. From the total percentage of water around earth, fresh water which is what we use for our daily activities consist of about 2.5%, and only around 1.2% of this fresh water is found on earth's surface. I guess that already explains the limited amount of water that we have. It is no doubt that it is limited now as you will agree, the water crisis is becoming very disturbing now. If you go to places where there were beds of rivers, lakes, and streams in the past, you would have realized that those places are now dry lands, and the water is gradually reducing.

If you experience winter in your country, of course not all of us experience winter, you would have noticed that those periods are getting shorter, the rain is reducing. This effect of water loss comes with concequences such as draught where both plants, animals, and humans suffer for it. Humans would have to compete for drinking water to survive over plant and animal use of water. In the water itself, there would be a decline of diversity, and when lost, they cannot be regain.

Is it really our fault that we use water a lot? We need food, energy, trasport, and we have been needing these things, and would be needing them for a long time. To be sincere, our improved economy around the world which has brought about increased prosperity, is owed to water. Days when I do not have water running from my tap, it is like the world is coming to an end. I would feel dry, tired, and easily triggered. That is just to tell you how important water is. You see, as important as water is, we basically use it for our food when it comes to irrigation, and not even direct drinking. If about 70% of water is used for irrigation, then it means that agriculture is consuming a whole lot of water.

While we cannot live without water, we are running out of it very fast, and we need to do something drastic. Some people have even blamed the industries for wasting water, and no doubt that is true. What do you think can be done to the world's water crisis, and do you think that in the next 100 years, we would be able to shower for up to 10 or 20 minutes without worrying about lack of water. I hope I will be alive at that time to proof if water is infinite or it is actually going away, and I have also started working on my water usage so I do my part in stopping the water shortage.
