Global Connection - A Spark From Technology I Cherish

Many years ago, people communicated using letters, post offices and even human messages. One major setback on that form of communication was how slow it was for information to be passed across. Back then, people didn't even communicated with people who are way too far away from them so there were a lot of downsides to this form.

I wasn't born then but dad have told a lot of stories and I could only imagine how bad it would get if such would repeat itself now. Well, technology happened so it is impossible to go back to those times.

Even though I wasn't in the era of letters as passage for information, I witness a lot of people who still used it for lack of access to the recent technology development around. An encounter I had with a technology years ago sparked my love for it till today.

I think it would be around 2010-2012, it was around that time I first got an access to a technology that blew my mind away. Now that I think about it, I wonder if I missed seeing the same technology in the cartoons and movies I saw long before then.

I must have seen a lot of technology effects around before that time but they didn't spark my curiosity and love as much as that encounter did for me. What was the spark moment I cherish even till now?

It was the moment I imagined myself connecting with someone in a different country!

A old neighbour's daughter visited from another country with a unique looking kind of phone. I witnessed her contacting her friends through chats and online calls. That may have been normal to her and others but to me, I couldn't help but be fascinated by how happy she was doing it.

The friends were not with her physically but they seemed to have the same impact on her as they would if they were with her there. I imagined a world that's connected without physical meetups and still promote happiness and growth. That simple technology moment made me fall in love with this technology as a whole.

I can remember since that time, I've been more keen to watch movies that showed scenes with global connections, connecting without actual meetups. Till today, I'm still a huge lover of technology especially the ones that connects or helps people without going through the physical actions.

I know there are downsides to this in technology but it could be limited and technology will do more good than harm to humanity as I've imagined it to be since I fell in love. I can't even start to list out how amazing technology have been for me since the moment that I cherish up till today.
