A Deepening Romance With Lacewing Flies

These are my first bunch of bananas ever. It is beyond exciting to have bananas growing in my front yard.

Just yesterday I was telling a friend about my videos and fotos and stalking-love-obsession of Lacewing Fly larvae and how beneficial they can be in the garden... How insanely adorable they are...
That I would like to raise them to increase their population here

And then, these eggs were on my bananas. I decided to photograph them and find out what kind of eggs they are, so that I could do my best to care for them until they hatch... As having cut down their mama's choice of nursery location. And coincidence of coincidences...they are Lacewings, Chrysoperla carnea subclass Pterygota (winged insects) and order neuroptera.

Hexapoda translates to six-footed. This is the taxonomical category above Insecta (including also Entognatha, but they are for some other time)

Pray for their little bitty lives, that I am an apt bug-nanny.

Also...out-loud-outting myself here: I mixed them up with caddisfly larva in another recent bit of writing.. I'll have to correct myself...in that other.

Peace, Love and Bugs

I photograph my fotografía...I write the good stuff and the screwed up too, all by myself. DeepL however helps me to translate well...or closer to well.

Planting bananas in the front yard is great on its own, but noticing small details like the Lacewing Fly eggs shows your true love for nature and deep care for the ecological balance in your garden.

Hi @melibee. It's great to have your own banana plantation, harvest it yourself and eat it. The photos are also cool. Regards :)

There's a slim chance the eggs would live to hatch again, having cut the banana. 😅
Those are nice shots.

I really liked your banana picture and I myself sometimes post such pictures. I really like eating bananas raw as a vegetable and ripe as a fruit. Seeing your banana picture reminded me of eating bananas again. I wish you all the best.

It IS amazing. It's really a dream come true. I've been working hard for a lot of years now and had a lot of setbacks...but this WILL be a whole food forest for me and the gang. Thanks for the encouragement.
