The cost of connectivity.

Today, I found a moment to recall memories about a time when I walked into an occupied internet café in Ghana, and the experience was interesting and inspirational. As a Vodafone employee, I've seen the tremendous time and financial commitment that young people make to use the Internet. Despite the high cost of data, the Vodafone café remained a destination for people looking for internet activities.

Observing the events developing around me, I couldn't help but think about the possibility of change if these people redirected their online engagements to platforms that provided genuine benefits. Many people spend hours surfing, viewing films, and socialising on traditional Web2 platforms, with nothing to show for their efforts and investment.

Consider the impact if these young individuals were introduced to the world of Web3 platforms, where involvement extends beyond merely browsing to active involvement in communities that deliver genuine value. The potential for personal and social progress is enormous.

As a Vodafone staff member, I imagine a future in which Ghana's youth realise the promise of Web3 technology. The shift from passive online activities to meaningful connections on platforms like Hive may empower them by providing not just amusement but also chances for learning, cooperation, and personal growth.

In a nation where internet access points have a huge impact on online experiences, adopting the notion of Web3 platforms might be a game changer. It's time for a shift in mindset in which Ghana's youth engage platforms that not only meet their social requirements but also promote their general well-being and progress.

Let us picture Ghana, where any trip to the internet café is a venture in personal growth, information exchange, and community building using Web3 technologies. A simple click starts the road to a more independent and linked community. Are we prepared to embrace the transformational power of Web3? The future of Ghana's digital environment depends on our joint choice.

I used to spend a lot of time on web 2 platforms until I found a better platform (hive) and things changed. Now I only want to spend time thinking about what to write, and how to grow on the platform.

And you can create and own your own community on hive.

Well said.
Once you build the infrastructure, the internet network will follow. Look at Romania for example, one of the best internet in the world, better than the US or most of Western Europe, just because people enjoyed using it and improving it. Since 1989.

This will require a generational shift in focus because a lot of young minds think that having a good time online is all about movies, music etc al.While these things are not bad but they may distract one from the more important things.

The energy put in web2 was huge. In fact, many are still burning out their time on those platforms without anything to show for it. Redirecting such energies to web3 would make a lot of differences.
