Secret battle mage challenge: up close and personal

We've seen the good, bad, and ugly. Overall its always been fun moment playing splinterland game enjoying different battle ruleset week in and out, this week's battle ruleset is all about melee attacking monsters they are one of the most formidable monsters in splinterland game they are unique and very dangerous those who know how to use melee monsters in battle always take advantage of their opponent, monsters with sneak, opportunity, close and far range attacking are mostly melee attacking monsters in any battle ruleset the power of melee monster can't be overestimated.

Although these monsters have their limitations against monsters with thorn ability they get double damage when they attack thorn ability monster also melee monsters will first affect a monster shield before it health this also gives good shield protection monster upper advantage when going head to tail with melee monsters.

This week battle ruleset up close and personal my opponent seems very more prepared than me I got defeated at the end of the battle that lasted multiple rounds against a fire element opponent.

Battle ruleset

Up close and personal seem melee monsters always take their battle against another monster personal in the arena as they will always need to come in contact with the other monsters to inflict damage on their health, this ruleset allows the use of melee monsters with double attacking ability, unit monster with double ability can also be used in this ruleset to counter your opponent using demoralizing unit monster or thorn ability monster can increase a players chance of winning, using good speed high slashing attacking monsters with additional sneak, opportunity good shield protection monster is an added advantage in the arena.

For this battle ruleset 30 cost mana cap was given for both team to come up with their lineup monster my opponent came up with fire element monster while I also did the same fire element monster seem to have some good melee monster unit although for this ruleset despite all my strategy and tactics to defeat my opponent they still got the best of me with their good strategy it was clash of titan between the both team.

Battle lineup

LIVING LAVA My tank for this ruleset LIVING LAVA has ability to reduce attack from melee and range monsters by 50% with this ability this monster has advantage in this ruleset as all unit monsters in this ruleset will be melee attacking monsters this monster has a good slashing attacking power although it can only attack from front position which makes a good choice pick for a tank.

FEROX DEFENDER my next lineup monster is the FEROX DEFENDER it's another melee attacking monster with shield protection this monster adds plus two 2+ armour to all lineup monsters which mean all my lineup monsters will be having additional 2+ armour to their shield this monster only attacks from frontline position as well.

SERPENTINE SPY this ruleset isn't complete without an additional opportunity monster SERPENTINE SPY with its opportunity ability attacks weak monster with low health stat it looks for vulnerable monsters and strike.

TENYII STRIKER this is a sneak attacking monster with good speed and attacking power it attacks from behind it attacks an opponent lineup from backline combining a sneak and opportunity monster for this ruleset will give me good chance of evading my opponent quickly.

KOBOLD BRUISER another melee attacking monster I guess I was a bit out of my strategy plan when I added this monster since it barely added any effect in this ruleset being in the backline it buy some time for my monsters.

My strategy

For this ruleset my opponent almost came up with same lineup monster as mine my strategy for this ruleset was to tweak the battle gameplay with my sneak and opportunity monster so as to attack from both sides of the battle my opportunity monster will look for my opponent weak monster while my sneak monster is evading from backline my FEROX DEFENDER give all my lineup monsters additional protection shield which can be used to buy more time for my team units.

This time my strategy did not work out as planned my opponent took me by surprise with their lineup as they emerge victorious at the end of the battle.

Battle arena

The battle lasted eleven rounds a battle of five against six monster since we both came up with almost same unit monster I anticipated the battle will be a long duel as both team look well prepared my opponent wasn't will to back out this time defeat isn't an option for them this time.

Round 1 first round my opponent went with the first attack with my shield protection on my opportunity monster it was not eliminated on this first attack for this round no monster was eliminated.

Round 2 my team went for thei attack and my opponent second line monster was targeted by my opportunity monster which made it to be first on this battle arena to be eliminated.

Round 3 this round my team opportunity monster was the target and it got eliminated with just a strike leaving the battle with four against five.

Round 4 it's now four against four my opponent backline monster has been eliminated at this round my sneak monster just eliminated it first monster both team tanks are still in the arena.

Round 5 my opponent tank is finally out of the battle arena in this round while my tank could be eliminated with just a single strike for any monster.

Round 6 finally my tank is out of the battle range it's now going to be two against two.

Round 7,8 round 7 no monster was eliminated which lead to round 8 where my opponent opportunity monster got eliminated at last.

Round 9, 10, 11 my opponent bloodlust most eliminated two of my unit monster with it ability to gain more health and shield once it eliminates any monster on the arena I was finally taken out at round 11.
