Rise of the commons ruleset, allow the use of only rare and common monster units, these means legendary monster will not be used in the battle ruleset gladiators will not find place in the arena on common monster, Summoners are unaffected which gives summoners chance to participate in this ruleset challenge common monster in splinterland are also unique with special abilities in some ruleset they can be used in the arena against even the most formidable splinterland monster collection their roles can't be overlooked, in honor of the commons this ruleset will allow splinterlanders to select only common and rare monsters for this ruleset.

Rise of the common ruleset for this weeks battle mage challenge only allow use of common and rare monsters, monsters from any element can be used for this ruleset as long they fall and rank in the common and rare collection, each element in splinterland have their set of common and rare monsters collection I find life element monster quite appealing for this battle ruleset as it has some good monster that can be used to easily annihilate an opponent.

For this battle ruleset I will be opting my battle with life element monster seem I've got some good common monster collection in the life element the mana cost cap for this ruleset is 31 mana for me and my opponent to come up with our lineup my opponent seem to be quite ready as well they choose life element monster for their battle as well which means it might be clash of titans with same element monster collection.

DRYBONE BARBARIAN My tank is an enrage monster with ability to increase its attacking speed and slashing attack by 50% whenever it is been attack by another monster it's not not just suitable as tank with it high attacking ability it has a good health stat of 10 making it to absorb some good attack from opponents before been eliminated because of it high speed monster can easily attack and miss if they dont good speed.

SHIELDBEARER this monster is another good monster that can be used as a tank since my enrage monster could only attack from first position I placed SHIELDBEARER as second in lineup because of it taunt ability to take damage from opponents attacks with it shield of 4 and plus 9 health stats and good speed it will serve as a protector to shield other monsters from attack between first to second round of the battle.

VENARI CRYSTALSMITH third on my frontline list is the a range attacking monster with healing repair ability it support tanks with plus three health given it ability to aid my tank it will be used to buy more time in the battle although it health and speed are average it presence in the battle will make a big difference.

PELACOR ARBALEST This monster is best suited to be placed at backline although if an opponent comes up with more sneak monsters it can be eliminated with 1 or 2 strikes it ability to attack an opponent tank twice makes this monster very dangerous it speed and attacking range aim are very destructive.

GARGOYA SCRAPPER Since we can't fully predict what an opponent lineup will be like until in the battle arena this monster will be used as a shield for my PELACOR ARBALEST in case my opponent comes up with sneak monster.

My strategy

My strategy for playing this battle ruleset was to play a game of survival and endurance test, since this isn't like other battle ruleset that demand the use of only magic, range, opportunity or sneak monsters in this ruleset any monster can be used as long it fall within common and rare monsters collection it's hard to predict what my opponent will be likely coming up with.

I used endurance test and power to come up with my strategy first my tank having a very good chance of quickly evading an opponent with one or two strikes it can eliminate a monster with 10 health mana, next my taunt monster will be used to take multiple damage from my opponent while my tank and doubt strike monster be causing damage to my opponent on the other hand my healing repair monster will help support my tank to stay a bit longer in the battle.

My strategy did workout I guess because my opponent made some slight mistake in placing his monster collection if their second line monster was in position 4 or 6 i would probably loss the battle.

I managed to scale through the battle winner just because my opponent did not make a good arrangement on his lineup the battle lasted 8 rounds leaving me with only 3 monster at the end of the battle my health repair monster as tank did quite incredible with it health recovery which gave my double striking range attack monster to strike hard into victory.

Round 1 first round began with my opponent having to strike first which did cause lot of damage on my frontline and taunt monster my opponent also came up with DRYBONE BARBARIAN which mean its first attack would suck the life out of my frontline monster.

Round 2 No monster was eliminated in first round but by tank couldn't make it to the next round my opponent next attack eliminated my tank it seems the battle have been decided in this round.

Round 3 thanks to my PELACOR ARBALEST range monster and its double strike attack which was used to eliminate my opponent tank and second line monster with the help of my healing repair monster my taunt was out of the arena at the end of round 3.

Round 4 Now its three against three although I still have my healing repair monster and double strike range monster which gives a good sign of victory for me.

Round 5 my healing repair monster as the tank was taking all the damage and repairing it health stat giving my PELACOR ARBALEST monster chance to strike from behind.

Round 6 Only two monster left with my opponent in the battle arena I guess they can do little to no damage on my repair monster.

Round 7,8 One monster left for my opponent to surrender as the battle has been decided.
