Genus Mimosa

What you see here is the base of the fruit from a mature, dried-out Mimosa pudica (sensitive plant). This plant is easily found almost anywhere; its population in my area is quite stable, and many people—including farmers—view it merely as a weed or a nuisance that causes problems. As we know, the plant's stems are covered in sharp, fine thorns, making it dangerous to touch or risk accidental pricks; unfortunately, these thorns remain attached even after the stem has died and dried out. Without looking closely at the fruit base, one might miss its hidden uniqueness and beauty; take a look at the images I have provided here to see the beauty and distinctive character of the Mimosa pudica fruit base.

I managed to find this plant in my cocoa plantation; the base of the fruit appears old and dried out, yet its beauty and structure are clearly visible in the photos I captured using a macro lens.
