Looking at the most recent news about artificial intelligence, it might seem that Google is lagging behind, after the bombshell of OpenAI first with its text-to-image DALL-E and image-to-text CLIP models and lately with the super famous GPT-4, Google has only released his "Bard" without much media hype but it seems that now it has woken up.

Viendo las noticias más recientes sobre inteligencia artificial podría parecer que Google se está quedando atrás, tras el bombazo de OpenAI primero con sus modelos de texto a imagen DALL-E y de imagen a texto CLIP y últimamente con el super famoso GPT-4, Google tan solo lanzó su "Bard" sin demasiado revuelo mediático pero parece que ahora ha despertado.

As an evolution of its PaLM 2 language model, Google has created Gemini, a multimodal artificial intelligence model, this means that it is capable of understanding information from various sources, such as text, images, video, audio or code and analyze them to give us a response, which in itself is a great improuvment by Google in AI.

Como evolución de su modelo de lenguaje PaLM 2 Google ha creado Gemini, un modelo de inteligencia artificial multimodal, esto quiere decir que es capaz de comprender información proveniente de varias fuentes, como texto, imágenes, vídeo, audio o código y analizarlas para darnos una respuesta, lo que ya de por sí es un gran acelerón de Google en la IA.

In addition to this, it can translate any web page or document that we access from the phone and make a summary, record interviews and keep them in text mode to later process them and extract summaries or highlight the most important points. At the moment these functions have only reached the Samsung Galaxy S24 but they will soon reach the Google Pixel and mobile phones from other brands with Android OS.

Además de esto puede traducirnos cualquier página web o documento al que accedamos desde el teléfono y hacer un resumen, grabar entrevistas y conservarlas en modo texto para luego procesarlas y sacar resúmenes o destacar los puntos más importantes. Por el momento estas funciones solo han llegado los Samsung Galaxy S24 pero pronto llegarán a los Google Pixel y a móviles de otras marcas con SO Android.
