Top 3 Helpful Sources For Learning

I’ve been spending a few weeks now studying using the roadmap that was posted on Roadmap.sh. I am mostly learning Cybersecurity and Frontend. It took me a while to map what I was interested in and will keep me occupied. So, after some thinking to do, since all these time I am familiar with OSINT and worked with tools on them, I decided that security was something I was more into. Then I tried finding out some good roadmap and the one from Roadmap.sh was a lot more fitting. Anyhow, below you’ll find some resources that could help your coding and programming journey.

Roadmap.Sh

Obviously it was the first one I mentioned. The website has various roadmaps that can keep you occupied whether you’re a hobbyist or someone who wants to make money from tech. Either way, if you’re confused where to start, roadmap is a good place to begin. It’s my #1 reference of learning apart from other curriculum that I found from various universities.

Khan Academy

I pretty much grew up with it and helped me a lot during my school years. Now, I am back taking their math courses because in some curriculum, there are discrete mathematics and even calculus that I have not had touch for a while. If you’re switching from different major/career to tech, Khan academy is gonna be your best-friend. They offer really helpful explanation and also exercises. Other than math, there are also computer science courses as well as miscellaneous courses that are fun to take.

Freecodecamp

Back then we have W3 school but I also grew up with freecodecamp and have used it a lot. Out there, people are using freecodecamp to kick start their coding/programming journey. It’s straightforward and lets you learn all the basic while earning a certificate. From there, I also learn C# during my sparetime. I am not familiar at all with C# but it was quite fun and I managed to finish the first part on “Write your first C#”. It’s still a long way but I am not rushing on that since it’s only something I do for fun.

I personally think those 3 are sufficient to learn. Personally, the only thing that I find challenging is that finding time, sticking to it and also moving forward after getting the certification. This is why since I found Roadmap.sh, it was pretty much helpful to find my next steps to learn and try. I have already promised myself that when I upgraded my laptop, I would start working on it. And it’s what I’ve been busy with lately. After all, you can never go wrong updating/upgrading your skills and education.

I have been meaning to start learning to code for some time now but have always felt at a loss for where to start since I am not from that background. Keeping this post bookmarked for future reference.

Roadmap.sh would help because they have the map of various things you can learn from. It's definitely a good start. If you learn anything new, just post it here too 😄

Wao, thanks for sharing this insight, it was really an helpful one for me... please can we talk better on discord because I am also into front-end and cyber security. Probably we could learn together or you show me something that can be helpful to me as a boss you are..

Coding is one of those things I find fascinating and I've always wanted to learn. So based on what you're saying, Roadmap.sh is the way. I hope I have time to juggle them.

Roadmap.sh just gives you a concise direction what to learn. Think of it like a curriculum but you still have to find the subject yourself and this is where freecodecamp comes in handy.

Amazing sources, I'v been coding for three years and I'm a little good at making android apps ... Can I make tutorials in this community or it's not allowed? 🥰 @macchiata
