Reviewing Earbuds Robot Airbuds TWS T30

avatar

TWS (True Wireless Stereo ) has been around for a few years now but only about a week ago, I was sold to this idea to try TWS. I’ve seen people review TWS and even during my travels, I’ve seen the cheapest TWS that was just under $10. What’s the hype around it and what’s so good about it?

When I got my headphones about last year, I hoped they would last for two years but during my trip, I broke it and stitched it with duct tape. It was in such poor condition that I resorted to a cheaper option until the other week, when my cheapest option was not optimal I decided to open to a new option and purchased a new one. I am eventually sold to the idea of TWS instead of getting another headphone that once I am back on the road, I’d probably break it again. Another consideration I have was that, I wasn’t willing to spend more than $20 for a headphone that once I am traveling is going to end up the same way.

As soon as I got to the store, I was just amazed that there are plenty of TWS options from the cheapest to the expensive ones. My cousin was already telling me to get the galaxy buds as he has one but I was still hesitant as I find it too small and for someone like me, I’d probably lose them within a few days. PS, even now I am already losing the charging cable of this TWS haha . I ended up going with Robot, I love their headphones and they’re also reasonable brands that don't over promise their customers considering the price tag they’re offering. Another habit that I am changing when reviewing is that, I also decided to review them a week later to see how they perform after some use. I notice that it’s big when you’re writing a review as sometimes, a product can be faulty after a week's use. Speaking of that, I’ll tell you about the Xiaomi Smartwatch and how I am regretful of purchasing them in my next post. For now, let’s stick to Robot TWS T30.

Unboxing

Inside the box

In the quick user guide, it has everything you need to know on how to operate it. Airbuds isn't exactly as straightforward as headphone and even more so when there's no battery indicator. So you have to learn what each color means on the case and on the earbuds.

Inside the box

Robot color branding is green and though their boxes are much humbler than JETE and Gamen, it has its own appeal. For this series, they have TWS T50 and T30. In this box, I got the T30 and inside the box it has charging cable, quick manual, warranty card, two more pairs of ear tips that you can adjust and replace. The front part inside the box contains 2 of the earbuds with the main case. The cable and eartips located behind the box.

Design

DSC03801.JPG

I have to say that the T30 is personally better designed than the T50 that looks pretty uncomfortable without any eartips. T30 is also more rounder and with eartips. Unfortunately, at the store, they don’t have T30 plus which is the newest line and even more features than T30. Considering that the T30 is a pretty old model, I have to say it’s not bad for the price tag.

Features

T30 features bluetooth 5.3 with lightweight design and advertised as 22 hr music playtime. It has pretty basic features and there’s no battery indicator other than the lights that you have to learn from the quick manual guide. It’s unlike the other models that have a battery indicator allowing you to know when to charge. The touchpad is located inside the earbuds and there should be no worries that it will accidentally touch that will change the settings. However, I personally find this to be inconvenient especially when I want to skip a song.

Comfort

DSC03839.JPG

my mom as illustration how it fits pretty nicely.

It’s so comfortable that it sticks to my ears really tightly and even when I run, it doesn't fall. I think that it’s what matters with earbuds like this. As long as they do not fall when you’re running around and moving around, it ticked another basic list for the TWS. However, I find that after 2 hours and more use, my ears become pretty tired and I never use it longer than 5 hours without a short break.

Audio Testing

There are stereo and mono modes for these earbuds that you can activate by tapping the earbuds a few times. I tested the left and right sounds and they sound pretty good. As for noise canceling, even with mid volume, there is no noise at all. You can basically become deaf within a few years if using this almost everyday for hours on end. The loudest volume on the phone could hurt your ears. I asked my mom if she could hear the music I am listening to using the highest volume, she can’t even hear it. When tested for a call, it was also quite noise canceling but you still had to speak louder or otherwise the other party couldn’t hear you.

thumbnail.jpg

After a week use

Everything still works as intended. It’s great when you want to be focused on anything without listening to any noise. Living in a very noisy environment, these little earbuds helped a lot. They also fixed my bad habit of listening to music loudly as with the mid volume level, it was already too loud.

Unfortunately, the reach is a lot lower than my previous headphone. If I leave my phone upstairs, it disconnects and only if I am under the exact spot where I left my phone, I could hear it again. I tested it for 20 hours and it works just fine and I only charge it once after 24 hours. I certainly do not recommend using this for prolonged hours as I’d like to believe you can bleed your ears haha. I also tested it when I wear a helmet while using this, sometimes it falls but sometimes it’s not. But I certainly do not recommend using earbuds while wearing a helmet. And only after a week, I already lost my charging cable haha. To end this, I have to say that I am pretty satisfied with robot earbuds as usually, with their headphones, I would bet my money on JETE than it. But so far, their earbuds and with the price tag that’s under $30, it’s not a bad one to have.

More notes

I haven't tested it if this one is waterproof but I certainly doubt it is. But with falling test, after falling quite a bit of times throughout the week, it still works.

Hello dear friend @macchiata good day
I'm sorry about what happened with your headphones during the trip, sometimes it's better to spend a little more money and ensure that the quality of the product is better
I hope you never have to test if it is waterproof, and if it happens to be resistant to it, it's good that despite several falls it still works
I appreciate you sharing this product review.
that you enjoy it a lot

I don't think this one is waterproof though so I am not risking it, at all.

These buds look great and come with an excellent price tag. Great to see you put it through the paces. I've been hunting around for ear buds after getting a package stolen last year with a new pair of Sony earbuds in it. Recently, I saw a deal on some Anker tech, so I jumped at the opportunity.

No way!! that sony earbuds must've been expensive and definitely awesome. I have a sony speaker and the audio quality from it is just really good. What about the quality of that one? is it comfortable for longer use? Also that cable reminds me of my lost one that I have yet to find haha.

It's a bummer they got stolen because it was a really good deal. At least I didn't lose any money. The Anker ones are working well, but I haven't tested all the bells and whistles. It comes with an app that allows you to control different settings, including a fitting test for the different sized replacement covers. I hope they last awhile, and yours too!

Hello friend, congratulations on this new acquisition, I hope you enjoy it and can listen to music with peace of mind. A brand of headphones that are very good, I have had the opportunity to try some and the audio or whatever needs to be heard can be heard clearly. In addition, the number of hours that it lasts with battery, without a doubt it would be legal to spend all day with them on, but for special occasions that you have to leave home, it is Perfect, as well as the black color, which allows you to combine it with any stuff. Successes that these last you.

I was hoping there would be another color but either way, black was fine for me as well.

The fact that the earbuds don't fall out while running or walking is already a good point. It is very annoying to have them slip in your ear. I hope these earbuds can last you a lot longer.

I switched to using wireless earpods when I got tired of using headphones. Sometimes, even without the earpods, I can still feel them around 🤣
I prefer the open-type earphones (earpods) over earbuds because the latter tends to make my ears hurt. I find earpods more comfortable. I got mine for $10 on shopee, and it comes with touch control, which is a fantastic feature.
But this Robot Airbuds is already a budget-friendly option for those who prefer earpods 🤘🏼

$10 on shoppee?? that's really a steal. I rarely shop from there but it seems like compared to others e-commerce they always offer cheaper price and more discounts as well. The over ear is definitely comfortable but I find a problem when I carry them and sometimes when I am working out and forgot to cover my head with hoodie, the pads will be slightly sweaty xD

(Edited)

I also had an earbuds, but a different brand. I want to post about it soon because it's been with me for almost a year, we went through a lot of ups and downs with my earbuds already, it even swam in the water, but thank God it is still working huhu. Anyway, I hope this will lasts and as well as yours! 🤍
