Stop Wasting Money on Cheap Mice

2025 is the year when I am back to reliable products and known brands. I got a little fed up experimenting with newer brands that always felt like a gamble. I mean, it’s cool that they can be pretty innovative but I am not a tech influencer who got sent packages of freebies to review, I am simply a regular user, wanting the best bang for my bucks and something that lasts for more than a year or two. So, this is why I am always doing more research more than I should and also tend to stick to brands that I have tried and known. At the same time, I also don’t want to live in a house filled with tech clutter that ends up being dumped somewhere without having the chance to be recycled. So, this is the end of my experiment with newer and trendy brands.

Everything is saturated these days and we can always get something new for fraction of the price from a good quality products. There are plenty tech influencer out there always wanting to influence us on buying their preferred products. As much as a lot of them are fairly affordable, sometimes we don’t really think of its build quality. If your resources are also limited, it would be best to stick with quality.

Cheap Isn’t Cheap

When it comes to tech, sometimes we just want to get the things that work. We care more about its functionality rather than its durability. This is why knock offs and cheap brands have its own market; they are made so cheaply so that we can always replace it and doesn’t feel like we’re losing money. The thing is, we kind of do.Consumer behavioral psychology exists to study things like these in which among topic it covers, it studies on how we make decision on what to purchase.

Would you rather buy $3 mouse or $20 mouse?

Both serves the same purpose but with the $3 mouse, you’re bound to replace it every couple of months due to faulty or some other wiring problems. In the end you end up paying the same price or sometimes even more. We also haven’t factored extra energy spent on commuting to buy them or just clicking some buttons to order it online. There’s also time spent on being worked up about the said broken mouse. So, why not buy for something that actually last and know that we’re not going to replace them every couple of months?

It's the same with my TWS that I got about a month ago; I got fed up with cheaper brands and decided to pay more for quality that I always long for. Now, the same can be said with my accessories.

Recently, my fantech mouse gave up. I got them exactly about a year ago and it was a model that existed around 4 years. So, in just exactly a year, that mouse had done its job. Somehow, I was expecting that it would last a couple more years. But alas, it’s exactly a year since I purchased it and it gave up.

Since I was in the market for a mouse, I didn’t want to experiment anymore. I always have my best luck with Logitech and they are always durable for me. Their mouse lasts for more than a year even if it’s on the cheaper range.

This time around, I decided to actually get Logitech G series under their gaming series. It’s so insane how much some of them would cost especially their Pro series. Apparently, after a few research some of their G and pro series are considered some of the best gaming mouse. For me, I simply get something within my range, just a budget friendly gaming mouse that does the job.

Logitech G102 light sync

This Logitech G102 light sync gaming mouse looks pretty classic. It is also non wireless but what’s make it interesting is that the light can be programmable. For those who care about such aesthetic, that can be a bonus point but for me, that doesn’t really matter. If you have extra budget, definitely get their award winning line up.

A good mouse has a DPI button in which in this mouse is pretty easy to navigate. At the same time, with the app, you can check and adjust the DPI based on your preference. This really helps for me and since I’ve learned of this button, I would never go back to a simple mouse that doesn’t have any adjustable DPI button. Trust me, when you play game or design a lot, having those options really helps. Don't fall for just DPI button features, make sure they have an app where you can check their DPI rather than just something that promises of such feature.

Logitech G Hub Settings

In this light setting you can customize the kind of colors and effect that you want for your mouse. You can also turn it off entirely.

This is the most important setting that you can customize. I personally prfer 1600 DPI over the others. In Logitech G-hub you can also customize the mouse based on the games you're playing.

Final verdict

The mouse is too big too my liking but I find that smaller mouse can be quite uncomfortable. So far, I have no complain or problem with it. Not to mention, I will never have to worry about purchasing a battery or be dealing with connectivity issue due to the dongle problem.

If you have more to spend thought, definitely get the MX master and if your mouse budget is above $60, you’ll basically have some of the best mouse that you can get. They can even last longer too especially in comparison to the mere $20-$30 mouse. However, for now, I am 100% satisfied with this purchase as again, based on many of my experience, Logitech always delivers a good quality build and something that lasts longer too.

It's better to invest a little more than having to do micro transactions that's often going to cost a lot more than we originally spent.

The Logitech models are wonderful. I bought one two months ago, but the G203 model, and I'm more than satisfied. Congratulations!!!

It's the same model right? I think the 203 is just newer version of it :D but I am glad you're also satisfied. I hope it lasts.

This is a good gamer mouse, from a good brand. I have seen several reviews and they are worth it. I think if I would have to buy a new one and this is one of the options, I would not hesitate.

Regards.

It's definitely worth it, if you're on the market you can get either G102 or the G203, they're similar but the later is a newer model.
