Is Game Boy Still Worth in 2024? | Tech Monday
This retro console made a comeback during covid-19 or 4 years ago. Though its design changed from the original and now is more Chinese made than actual Japanese ones, this game boy might still be worth it in 2024. I did an unboxing in the previous chain but the video was gone. The picture below was how it looked back then.

Long story short, I found the game just laying around while I was packing my stuff and only got to use them again when I unboxed it and my mom wanted to play it. This retro console comes in two languages, Chinese and English with over 400 games. To be honest, the games are repeated but there are some hidden gems that can be played fairly well apart from the Super Mario which is the signature of this console.
This game boy comes with a battery that can be charged and can last a few days if you don’t play it too often. Now, while I am giving that to my parents to play, I still occasionally find myself playing just like yesterday when I explored the game and one of it is called Adventure Island.
Adventure Island is like Super Mario except it’s tropical. You jump around to kill the snails with an ax, then get an egg to upgrade to a skate or sometimes better weapon. There’s snakes and birds along the way too. There are a few more islands that can be discovered but I was only playing for 20 minutes before having to do something else. For me, that game is my favorite and most fun to play compared to Super Mario. There were more games that I tried playing and so far, the most interesting was only this one.
While this kind of game might cease to exist one day and be forgotten, I think a device like the one I have was able to bring back nostalgia or even something as simple as finally satisfying our childhood curiosity, just like me who wasn’t able to afford this back in the day nor my parents allowed me to get one of these. Now, even my parents are playing this game and the game is at our living room, so everyone can play it and relive their nostalgia towards Nintendo games.

Lol you make me remember when I still buy this game with my feeding money. That was where I played super mario for the first time. This kind of game can never go away because of kids. It's their favourite for gaming.
I hope people these days still want to play this. Though mario was't really my favorite, it's just iconic.
Well, you know we have our favourites. But the game is really an icon. I thought if it can really go away. Especially for the younger ones

I bought it for my son and the battery didn't last at all hehe but the games reminded me a lot of the old ones I'm very happy despite everything!
How long did it last for you? maybe because I never used it before so it stayed until 4 years. It's honestly quite a long time.
I'm sure it's worth it, you can have recreation time and more with video games at hand. Adventure island was one of the best games I ever played but I was never able to win it.
Trust me, I hardly win that game too haha. It's a lot difficult than most games I am currently playing xD
Cuba has a lot of retro lovers, and I have one friend that got one a few months ago, still play with it 😅👌
No wonder this type of thing is still selling and I am still seeing quite a bit of them in the market.
Hello friend, those devices are a relic and it is fascinating that you still have one in your hands and that way you can enjoy all those games and without a doubt I will be able to use one and it is the most comfortable thing and when you realize it you get addicted and they pass the hours. I hope you continue to enjoy it and keep it for a long time.
I still find it interesting it still works after 4 years. So, maybe if I use it more these days it won't stay as long as when I first played it again like the other days. Who knows and maybe one day this type of device is worthy to be put into a museum.
You have to give little use to the equipment.

Maybe you should get one since it's pretty reasonable too and especially on sale, that'd be even cheaper. 😄 it's fun playing them and kills the time too.
I couldn't because my daughter, like your parents, will want to play and she won't want to give it back to me and she will be more lazy than ever,😆
