Ants Hijacked My Headphone- Here's How to Remove Them Without Damaging The Headphone

This afternoon I found out my headphone made strange noises. I thought it was broken at first and started to get disappointed that afterall, Thinkplus wasn't a good audio brand. But the sound was a little strange and when I was checking out, I spotted an ant came out from the unsealed hole of the headphone. I still ignored it after it really made the audio experience terrible and I started getting suspicious and decided to inspect the headphone.

What truly shocked me was it wasn't just an ant but a goddamn colony of ants living rent free inside my headphone. I typically place my headphone inside its cover but since the last 2 days as I got a lot busier with family stuff, I didn't care about it much and leave it laying on the table. I wondered why they chose my headphone and now I am getting concerned with my other electronics because not only will they live rent free, they have the potential to damage the device.

I spent around 3 hours trying to get the colony out of my headphone. Even the picture above is after 2 hours I got them out. I also got helped from my mom who was holding the flashlight and managed to get a lot of them out.

At first, I didn't open my headphone but I was really desperate so I unscrewed everything and kept it open as you below. There's also plastic cover around the headphone and make sure to carefully shake them using a pencil or pen and do it carefully. That would drive away all the ants out and then make sure to have a space where they'd die instantly like water or some chemical mix to clean the floor.

Even after all the effort I did, there was still one pesky ant that won't leave and when they move around the plastic, they make rustling sound and it can drive you insane. So,make sure that every one of them are out to ensure the best audio experience. Most importantly, don't be like me, who forgot to put the headphone back on its place. It's also apparently common thing that the ants can get into the headphone. So, remember to store them safely as well as seal the parts that are open which can cause ants or any type of dust gets inside the headphone. Just as you see above, although the headphone is tightly sealed, dust can still get inside of it. So, more reason to seal any parts that are still open.

hahahahaha imagine how icky and itchy I felt cleaning those. I can clean it myself so it's fine now 🤣 I wondered how that's possible but there's a little hole around the headphone and that's where they entered it and lives there until I discovered them

Ow shoot, didn't know that this is possible. I think I have the same brand but different color.

Agree with @namiks, new fear unlocked!

It's possible 😅 if you have the same brand, be careful and close any holes haha the ants can live rent free there.

Same with our remote control. Ants are very tiny; that's why they can easily enter some tiny holes in our devices and such😂

😂damn, it was my first time they got into headphone/any electronics of mine. So, I wasn't aware they are living rent free around us 🤣

There's a little opening and that's where they got in. I am still surprised, they're even attracted to a headphone🤣
