Science in the time of Covid-19

Greetings dear friends of the @Project.HOPE community, writing about Covid-19 has become tedious, to the point that both writers and readers find it extremely uncomfortable to mediate points of view, in spite of this, in my particular case I like to keep abreast of all scientific events related to the strategies and research results that have been and are being developed to counteract the advance of this deadly virus.

In this sense, scientific research related to Covid-19 has not ceased since the World Health Organization declared the Coronavirus pandemic, since scientists have put all their intellect and effort to create conditions that serve to have a fairly broad vision of the virus and thus access to biological data to counteract the virus and reduce the number of deaths on a global scale.

However, despite the fact that the scientific community has put all its intellect and effort into counteracting the virus, something that overshadows these results is the outdated action of the states and local health organizations in most of the most affected countries, both in terms of the number of infections and deaths.

An example of this is that the scientific community, since the World Health Organization declared the Coronavirus pandemic, has always stated that it was unlikely to have a vaccine against Covid-19 within a year, since it would take several years to develop an effective vaccine and then produce it on a large scale.

Paradoxically, the states and the pharmaceutical industry ignored the positions of the scientific community, and a race to develop vaccines and compete early in the market was unleashed, with the sole objective of obtaining the highest possible profitability in an unhealthy competition between pharmaceutical companies.

Hello dear friend @lupafilotaxia, unfortunately Covid 19 is and will be news for a long time.
I share your opinion, to be informed is important.

I like to be informed and to do research, to act and to make decisions, as accurate as possible.

Thanks for sharing, best wishes.

Greetings @lupafilotaxia "Paradoxically, states and the pharmaceutical industry ignored the positions of the scientific community, and a race was unleashed to develop vaccines and compete early in the market, with the sole objective of obtaining the highest possible profitability in an unhealthy competition between pharmaceutical companies" .For the pharmaceutical industry and some states, they do not care how to stop so many deaths, rather their goal is how they can make profits , leaving aside Humanity . However, there is a scientific community that values humanity more than profitability.

Thank you very much for your publication

Hello friend @dgalan

It is very crude what you express, but in a way you are right, as the balance has been tipped by who sells more vaccines, and not by which one is more effective against Covid-19. Thanks for visiting the blog.

Best regards, be well.

Greetings @lupafilotaxia, that's right my friend, greed for money has prevented the development of a vaccine that can really counteract the advance of this deadly virus.

Thanks for sharing this post.

Greetings @lupafilotaxia it seems incongruous to think that after so many deaths and damage we are only thinking about the economic income, and that was the trigger in this race that has developed in favor of generating vaccines to combat the current pandemic. Thank you for your contribution

It is really striking that so far scientists have not been able to find an effective vaccine for the virus with the great amount of technological advances and resources that are currently available.
