WE STILL NEED NATURE NOT JUST TECHNOLOGY

Just yesterday I watched a movie titled “The Pod Generation”, many people might have watched this movie without taking the time to see the significance of the movie. This movie focuses a lot on civilization, but first, let me give you a highlight of the movie.

The movie was about a husband and a wife, the husband was a botanist, someone who loves nature while the wife works as an AI developer, a lover of technology, and they wanted to have a baby. The setting of the movie was based on a well-developed surrounding (I will say the future), even the therapist was an AI, everything was based on AI, and they were even paying to take in some oxygen from plant. The wife decided to for a pod (artificial womb) where the baby would be formed in a shell and not stress the wife, the husband initially didn’t agree but eventually he did, to cut the story short, they had a baby through the shell.

Looking at this movie, I agree that civilization can take us to that level, a level where nature will be diminished and everything will be based on artificial intelligence not natural. I took my time to see how everything was being replaced by AI and I wondered what are we humans supposed to do, are we going to be redundant? Again, looking at it, it made life easier in many ways *except for the fact that they have to sit at a place to collect oxygen from plants for a period of time, then they leave. Funny right?

I am a lover of nature and culture and I am also a lover of technology but I always say that I don’t love technology to the extent of forfeiting nature and culture, but it looks like with time (whether one likes it or not) maybe the next generation, when the world is based on AI, culture, and nature will be really diminished and there will be nothing else to do except from adapt.

This is one disadvantage of civilization. The higher the civilization, the lower the nature and culture, even with our level of civilization, our nature is greatly affected negatively, I mean. most things are now based on chemicals which is not good for humans. Our water bodies are negatively affected, and many seas and oceans are now infected, God knows what we are eating as fish.

Civilization has affected us in many ways like environmental degradation, pollution, deforestation, and even climate change not only that but it has brought about too much reliance on technology.

In another way, civilization has contributed to the world positively in many ways like creating equipment that makes things easy, faster, and more accurate. It improves learning and health development. It also reduces the cost of labor.

I strongly believe that everything has advantages and disadvantages. So, no matter how civilized we are or how uncivilized we are, we still going to have pros and cons. Just like the saying goes “Everything with disadvantages has advantages”

Hmm you're right though, everything is becoming more digital day by day, nature and culture are getting crushed. I wonder what the world would be like in the next generation to come.

The next generation would be so ‘technology based’

Of course. Nature will slowly be replaced

Imagine waking up to a robot taking you to the bathtub and then give you a good bath and afterwards Cook and feed you, ah!

I think there should be a boundary to civilization. It somehow defeats the purpose of the "creation".
