Technology In today’s world, technology has become a major source of wealth and economic growth. In one way or another, we all depend on technology and its continuous development. It has revolutionised our daily lives, providing numerous job opportunities and serving as a primary source of income for many.

However, let’s imagine a world without any of these technological advancements— a world where no form of technology is available. How do you think the global economic system would function? How do you think people would earn their living? Most importantly, how would you earn your living?

A world without the use of technology would be so different from what we know today. The absence of these technologies would most likely force us to return to the ways of our forefathers, where agriculture, fishing, and farming were the main means of sustenance and economic growth. An era where would need to rely on manual labour to meet their needs.

With all of these, what do you think you enjoy doing without technology that can earn you a living? Personally, I believe I could earn a living through cooking and crocheting, activities that can be done without the aid of advanced technology.

Cooking has been passed down through generations, and it doesn’t necessarily require modern appliances Although, today’s cooking has become so reliant on technology for convenience—blenders have replaced grinding stones, gas cookers have replaced firewood, and many more—cooking can still be done without technology, we just have to go back to the ways cooking was done before technology became available.

I have always loved cooking and I believe I could make a living as a caterer or cook, even without modern kitchen gadgets.

Just imagine a kitchen where everything is done manually. Mortar and pestle are used in grinding species, meals are cooked over open fires. I agree, it will be more labour-intensive and time-consuming, but the essence of cooking will remain— the flavours and nourishment are still there.

I really don’t mind the stress of cooking, there is joy in the stress, haha. To me, the fun part of cooking is the preparation and challenge that a dish requires. I believe that the love I have for cooking would help me thrive even in an environment without technology.

Another skill I enjoy is Crocheting, which also doesn’t require advanced technology. With just a crochet hook and some yarn, I can create a variety of items, from clothing to home decor.

Although yarns are typically produced with the help of technology today, I believe they can also be made manually. In the past, people spun yarn from raw materials like cotton and wool using simple tools. If I can get a manually manufactured yarn, crocheting would be a viable way for me to earn a living. I could crochet different things and sell them.

Crocheting without technology still remains the same, unlike knitting where you can choose to use a knitting machine, crochet can only be made by hand and there is no form of crochet machine. Crocheting is fun, it is an act of creativity and process.

These are the two activities I would still enjoy and could rely on to sustain my living without technology. What about you? Do you have any skills or hobbies that could earn you a living, that without the aid of technology? Feel free to share your thoughts.

I don't think so.

Even though a crochet machine can be created, I don't think it is anytime soon, lol.

I wonder how it’ll be like because you would have program it to make single crochet or double crochet or half double crochet or granny stitches… there are so many

I think that it is one reason why there isn't a machine for it yet.

There are different kinds of stitches and pattern.

🤣 I even stated that crocheting can’t be done with machine but knitting can be done with machine.

Crochet uses one pin and it has different stitches and patterns while knitting use two pins and different patterns

It is the cooking for me because every human needs it and you should be ready to make lots of sales. Crocheting will also go a long way in helping you live comfortably and all these things can help you live a beautiful life in the absence of technology.
