Organic Moments
It is the simple pleasures that make life worth living. Not complicated theories about how your entire reality is an illusory construct built by a highly complex and dynamic multi-billion year neural network sensitively dependent to initial conditions. Let us forget that at this moment, we're spinning around a planetary axis, revolving around a star that is bending the spacetime around it as it hurls us across the galactic void. In this moment, simplicity reigns. Beauty sublime. I'm not referring to processes initiated through visual pathways when the photosensitive rhodopsin interacts with light particles and initiates an electro-biochemical cascade along the parvocellular and magnocellular pathways that deliver specific types of information to the visual cortex where beauty is rendered, where faces are detected, codes transduced, smiles perceived with the machinery of dreams under conscious cognitive control. Forget the mechanics of the olfactory pathways, just lean closer and take a good whiff of the blooming tea. Let it tickle your nose. Bringing the cup to your lips, feel the smooth liquid spread across them- its moist sweetness on your tongue stimulating gustatory blooms and flowing warm down your throat.
