All Aboard the Monomad Challenge
The Monomad Challenge would be a cool name for a ship like this one parked beside Canada Place on Canada Day. The city has thousands of visitors because of the World Cup right now, and in addition, there are tourists who have arrived on our shores but are on their way somewhere else. So Canada Day was bustling with activity. I saw this ship from a distance and decided to take a closer look. These photographs of the cruise ship exploration are my entry to this edition of the challenge.

I was able to take a picture of the sign before it was swarmed by people seeking to photograph themselves in front of it. I perched on a bench patiently waiting while keeping an eye on the movement of the crowd. Then when I saw an opening in their flow, I pounced into action by jumping from my perch, got on one knee- as the selfie-takers moved in with their sticks- and snap. I took the shot then quickly disappeared into the crowd.

There were actually two ships on the harbour, but I snapped the other one in colour only. I switched to Monochrome when I came up to this ship, which is the one on the cover image.

With so much going on in the city, including Canada Day festivities, the balconies were empty, though I did see one or two passengers relaxing on their decks.

Workers below were using a small crane to move stuff from and into the ship.

Place du Canada
A couple of workers were washing the windows. To make this massive floating city sail, it's down to the smallest detail.

I even got a little artistic by hiding behind the bushes.

I've never been on a cruise ship and never really developed the desire to do so. I don't think my nervous system is ready just yet. I'm more of the skull-and-crossbones, parrot-on-the-shoulder type. If I go somewhere on a ship, there be plundering. Thank you for reading, mateys ☠️

What a beautiful cruise ship, but your photos are even more stunning, especially the close ups. I love the creativity of taking photos from a higher vantage point and from amongst the bushes. I’ve never been on a cruise either, but a short trip wouldn’t be half bad. Why do you say there’d be looting if you went? That made me laugh!
The black-and-white photography gave the composition a special touch; I don’t know why, but it reminded me of the Titanic era. Thank you so much for your work a big hug!🤗

It is great seeing the different designs for the cruise ships that arrive on the port. Some of them look like spaceships. I wanted to take photos from wider angles, but it was difficult because of the great number of people that day. These constraints forced me to get more creative with the framing.
I sometimes travel by ferry to the islands around here, and it is a wonderful trip across the open oceans and through the small islands.
I'm just being a payaso. 😄 Pirates aren't known for being the relaxed and well-behaved type, so they wouldn't do well in a cruise ship. They are known for being men of intense restless and chaotic action that includes plundering :) I would just plunder the scenery with my camera :D
Thank you for reading and your wonderful comment.
So, a pirate of photographs, hahaha. Thanks for such a great post, I loved it!!😍
