The subfamily Sphecinae is one of the insect subfamilies in the sphecidae family known as killer bees or drilling bees, insects in this subfamily are generally known as formidable predators in the world of insects, they often hunt other insects to eat or use as food stock for their larvae .

Killer bees tend to live solitary lives, although some species can live in small colonies, these insects build nests of earth or some other primary material such as rotting leaf litter, and some of them are famous for their effective hunting abilities, for example the driller bee, they hunt small insects and then put the prey into small holes drilled by them, so that the small insects have no chance of escaping and surviving.

sphecinae is a group of insects that is highly variable in behavior and morphology, but they can often be recognized by characteristics such as a stocky body and strong leg organs for capturing and controlling prey. This subfamily of insects provides valuable insight into the ecology and behavior of predatory insects in wild nature.
