Good night everyone ☕
in this post I want to show some pictures of the insect "Riptortus pedestris" that I found in the forest near my house a day ago, this insect also has a calm stature exactly the same as the insect that I shared in the previous post but the most prominent difference is in the size of the insect, if in the previous post I shared a slightly larger portrait and looked like a predator, but this post shows you all the insects that are small in size with a beautiful appearance.
but don't be mistaken, even though the insects I show today have a relatively small body size when compared to mictini insects, these insects are also predators that often prey on other species that are even larger than them, some time ago I found them preying on red wasps with a body size larger than them (unfortunately I didn't bring a phone to capture the moment), from that incident I understood that this small insect species has above average ability to prey, besides that these insects are also a threat to farmers because the chemical spray owned by insects can damage plant leaves such as corn, rice, chilies and others.
some of the parts that are the attraction of this insect are two protruding horns, eyes that look bigger than the head, slender front legs, two small horns behind the body, and back legs that look wide like leaf-footed insects, while the brown color of this insect makes it very possible for them to camouflage among dry leaves which helps them avoid being targeted by predators such as birds and others, these insects usually appear in the evening and cool environmental conditions, if you want to find them then I suggest you hunt after the rain in the evening.
