Fungifriday || New experience discovering the fungus species Xylaria longipes
Good afternoon everyone ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ
This is my contribution to the #Fungifriday contest organized by @ewkaw
Forest exploration has taken me deep into natural habitats where many beautiful species of mushrooms grow in a variety of ways. On this occasion, let me tell you about my experience while walking in the forest after the river water overflowed.
Coincidentally, I live not far from the river and there there is a small forest and also local plantations, so walking in the forest after the river water overflows has been my habit for a long time, in the past when I was little my father often took me to the small forest to hunt mouse deer, so after the river water overflowed Mouse deer are very easy to find, so it's a habit I still enjoy it to this day, but this time I didn't find any signs of mouse deer there, maybe because of the influence of changes in the ecosystem and some parts of the ecosystem have also been damaged so maybe the mouse deer have moved to another habitat that is more comfortable for them to live in.
In this forest has lots of dead trees that have fallen and are starting to rot, while bamboo and weed forests also grow in rows on the banks of the river, making it a beautiful and natural view for nature lovers.
but this time I don't want to discuss mouse deer and dense forests, I am more interested in discussing my discoveries in the forest with all of you, this is an important discovery in life, since I entered the world of observation, this is the first time I have discovered a very species of fungus unique, so I invite you all to dive into what I have found and hope we can find something, and actually to write this post I spent 13 hours studying the ins and outs of mushrooms, and am grateful I have found the appropriate name for this mushrooms.
This is the Xylaria longipes fungus which grows through the cracks in the mud in one of the trees which has been dead for a long time and which is now starting to rot. From several scientific articles I have learned that the Xylaria longipes fungus is known as a saprophytic fungus which grows in rotting organic matter, well this is very appropriate where I found them growing, dead trees, remaining mud and wood has started to rot, so my findings have yielded the result that this is the beautiful mushroom "Xylaria longipes".
When I found this fungus and I also paid close attention and I discovered that the uniqueness of this fungus lies in the way they grow, the Xylaria longipes fungus grows by sticking to the surface of damp and muddy wood, while other fungi grow from within the tree bark layer. but this mushroom is not like that, it is very different from the way other mushrooms grow in general, this mushroom has a small, elongated stem, but no petals at all, at first glance this mushroom looks like "a finger coming out of a tree trunk", perhaps because of this Xylaria longipes fungus is also known as finger dead people from several articles I read.
I have captured several photos of the Xylaria longipes mushroom from several sides, hopefully this will help you to recognize this mushroom more closely.

I need to admit that this is the first time I have discovered this mushroom and knowledge about it is still very limited, so if you have specific information about this mushroom then don't hesitate to leave a comment and I am very grateful to you.
the first time I saw them growing in groups on the surface of dead wood and never would I have guessed that what I had just seen were mushrooms, I approached to confirm what exactly I had just seen, and I was completely blown away when I saw From close up, what was growing in groups were mushrooms. I picked one mushroom and crushed it and I got the smell of mushrooms so I concluded that these were mushrooms, so I took several photos to study at home.
I need to increase my knowledge about these mushrooms such as their habitat, benefits of mushrooms, side effects and so on, thank you very much for reading my blog & see you in the next mushroom world post, warm greetings & have a nice day ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ
