Chlorophyllum molybdites or often known as "false parasol" is a species of poisonous fungus that is often found in tropical and subtropical areas and this fungus usually grows in grasslands, barns and other open places, this fungus is easiest to find during the rainy season, usually you will find this mushroom growing in November and December, because these two months have heavy rainfall so the mushroom grows easily, at first glance this mushroom looks similar to the "straw mushroom" which is a species of mushroom that can be consumed, so the similarity it is often in misinterpreted as a mushroom that is safe to eat, there have been several cases of people who consumed this mushroom experiencing severe poisoning.
The main characteristic of Chlorophyllum molybdites is its cap which is large and shaped like an umbrella with a diameter of 10-25 cm, the cap is creamy white with a brown spot pattern in the middle of the cap, this fungus also has white gills (lamellae) when it is young, but this color It will turn grayish green as the mushroom ages, and this is also what differentiates Chlorophyllum molybdites mushrooms from straw mushrooms which are safe for consumption.
Poisoning caused by Chlorophyllum molybdites is usually due to people's ignorance about mushrooms which contain poison, and the effects will appear several hours after consumption, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and even severe stomach cramps, although it does not have an effect on death, the poisoning is very excruciating, so If you are a mushroom lover then you need to be very careful with the Chlorophyllum molybdites fungus because it will make you fall.
