This is really a sad news. I am still using it for work every single day (in fact hour).
Teams does not include what I need, and I am currently exploring alternatives. For now, the best candidate I have found is Zulip, a Slack-like / Mattermost-like application that seems to have a good messaging system included (but no built-in methods for video calls, unfortunately). I still have 2 months to explore options... We will see.
Cheers!

I am impressed you still use it. Why not Telegram?
I was using Skype more as an habit that survived for more than 20 years than anything else... Now that it is time to change, I was looking for something like Slack/Mattermost, that was free, GDPR-compliant and with a not too crazy data management policy. In this respect, Zulip ticked the boxes and allowed for an easy channel creation / guest invitation process so that I can have one channel per research project (I am taking part in O(20) projects so that it is needed). I tested after it has been recommended by a few colleagues and it fitted the needs. So was it.
For Telegram, I don't know. I have never used it. Maybe it fits the needs, maybe not. But colleagues were a bit against What'sapp, Telegram, and all these phone-connected apps (by the way, any app that I use in work-related manner is not on my phone too).
