En la ciudad de Maracaibo en Venezuela se tiene la suerte de contar con un suministro de Gas Natural en un alto porcentaje de las viviendas y para uso industrial, que tiene un costo "0" para los consumidores de este tipo de combustible. En esta Edición Nº 15 les presentaré algunos comentarios acerca del Gas Natural y otros Gases Licuados del Petróleo (GLP) que han servido de generador energético a nivel doméstico, industrial y automotriz a nivel mundial, puesto que 50 países ya utilizan el GLP en casi 20 millones de vehículos como sustituto del diésel y gasolina.
In the city of Maracaibo in Venezuela we are fortunate to have a supply of Natural Gas in a high percentage of homes and for industrial use, which has a "0" cost for consumers of this type of fuel. In this Edition Nº 15 I will present some comments about Natural Gas and other Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) that have served as an energy generator for domestic, industrial and automotive use worldwide, since 50 countries already use LPG in almost 20 million vehicles as a substitute for diesel and gasoline.

Hace 40 años atrás era muy común observar encendidas las hornillas de las cocinas en casi todo el estado Zulia (Venezuela), ya que resultaba más fácil mantener el fuego que conseguir una caja de fósforos para iniciar la combustión.
Forty years ago it was very common to see stoves lit in almost all the state of Zulia (Venezuela), since it was easier to keep the fire burning than to get a box of matches to start the combustion.
Hornillas de cocina a gas (Pxfuel)
También es muy común observar los mechurrios encendidos todo el día durante todo el año para deshacerse de 60% del gas residual, que acumula altas presiones de gas al interior de yacimientos y perforaciones. Este procedimiento conocido como flaring quema el gas natural en la antorcha ubicada en el extremo superior de una torre de 20 o 30 metros de altura, mientras que el otro 40% es aprovechado en el suministro de gas natural hacia el uso residencial.
It is also very common to see the flares burning all day long throughout the year to get rid of 60% of the residual gas, which accumulates high gas pressures inside the reservoirs and boreholes. This procedure known as flaring burns the natural gas in the flare located at the top of a tower 20 to 30 meters high, while the other 40% is used to supply natural gas for residential use.

El Gas Natural (GN) es una fuente de energía fósil que se formó en las profundidades de la superficie terrestre y es catalogado como un subproducto del proceso de refinación del petróleo y tradicionalmente se quema en las refinerías de petróleo. Junto con el Gas Licuado del Petróleo contienen muchos compuestos diferentes (Carbono e Hidrógeno), formando una mezcla variable de metano (C H4), propano (C3 H8) / propileno y butano (C4 H10) / buteno, respectivamente y cuya relación se ajusta a lo largo del año para lograr unas características de combustión óptimas con una serie de características físicas y químicas que van de la mano con el poder calorífico del GN ≈ 9000 Kcal/m3 y del GLP ≈ 22000 Kcal/m3
Natural Gas (NG) is a fossil energy source that was formed deep below the earth's surface and is categorized as a by-product of the petroleum refining process and is traditionally burned in oil refineries. Together with Liquefied Petroleum Gas they contain many different compounds (Carbon and Hydrogen), forming a variable mixture of methane (C H4), propane (C3 H8) / propylene and butane (C4 H10) / butene, respectively and whose ratio is adjusted throughout the year to achieve optimum combustion characteristics with a series of physical and chemical characteristics that go hand in hand with the calorific value of NG ≈ 9000 Kcal/m3 and LPG ≈ 22000 Kcal/m3.

El Gas Natural está contenido en la trampa petrolífera y se recupera durante la perforación y explotación del yacimiento de petróleo, mientras que el Gas Licuado del Petróleo se obtiene como producto del proceso de refinación de crudos o eliminación de líquidos en el Gas Natural, es importante saber el origen de cada tipo de gas.
Natural Gas is contained in the oil trap and is recovered during the drilling and exploitation of the oil field, while Liquefied Petroleum Gas is obtained as a product of the refining process of crude oil or liquid elimination in Natural Gas, it is important to know the origin of each type of gas.A medida que buscamos mayor información sobre este tipo de combustible alternativo al uso del gasoil, diésel, gasolina u otro carburante, nos adentramos en el amplio y diverso mundo de los hidrocarburos, tanto así que hasta nos enteramos que para su uso residencial, se ha agregado un compuesto volátil de olor perceptible (tetrahidrotiofeno o metanotiol) para la detección de posibles fugas en tuberías o a través de una hornilla abierta. As we search for more information on this type of alternative fuel to diesel, diesel, gasoline or other fuels, we enter the wide and diverse world of hydrocarbons, so much so that we even learn that for residential use, a volatile compound with a perceptible odor (tetrahydrothiophene or methanethiol) has been added to detect possible leaks in pipes or through an open burner.

Muy interesante e instructivo tu post. Siempre me había preguntado a partir de post de otros venezolanos porqué siendo una potencia energética había apagones y a veces carencias de GLP y gas para cocinar. Pero infiero de tus post que depende mucho del estado donde se viva y de los recursos energéticos de ese estado. Gracias por compartir.
