Monomad: Dead wood mushrooms

IMG20230518105401-01.jpg

This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge.

Dead wood is a place for mushrooms to grow not only in the rainy season but in the dry season it can also grow on rotten bark.

I found this spectacular display a few days ago while hunting for mushrooms on Wednesday for Friday.

This Microporus mushroom grows from small to large. Even more exotic when you see this mushroom has water in the big hat. Yes, that shiny cup can hold rainwater and become a drink for insects like mushroom-eating beetles.

But, sorry I can't show you the beetle because it flew away before I took some photos :)
For today, please enjoy just a few mushroom photos. Next time I'll show you the beetles!
