I don't know if I buy the alien thing or not. I mean I can see the possibility that life exists but I lean toward the Fermi paradox.
Also though, I lean towards Avi Loeb when he said, that we aren't in a particularly interesting part of space or in a particularly interesting point in time. Why waste immense resources getting here to look at a bunch of hairless apes.

Avi Loeb is an interesting character, was listening to his claim of finding meteoric spheroids. Not surprising if he did in fact find some.. But the claim it's the first is bullshit.. We know some of the Pharaohs had meteoric iron daggers and stuff.
The solar sail I heard him talk about was pretty cool.
I believe that life exists in the universe outside of Earth. I can't imagine why they'd want to waste energy/time to get here when I don't know if we're particularly interesting.
We probably fucked up a bunch of stuff when we started lighting off nukes like firecrackers when we were testing them..
Can't imagine a massive explosion like that doesn't fry something with their quantum communications.
Species have come and gone in our time. This will be true for people too. The only chance we have to get a few more revolutions on this rock is AI, and we might mess that up too.
