Russians outlet Kommersant recently came out with information that the research into the vaccine EpiVakCorona entered a new stage. Now it is being tested on humans. The contract was signed on the 14th of July.

It’s Not For Free

From what I read in the contract the reward for volunteers makes up almost half of the money intended for the research – 21.8 million Roubles (roughly 300,000 USD). Each of the volunteers will get 148,000 Roubles (2000 USD).

The testing began on Monday, 27th of July, and one hundred volunteers were split into two groups – first will get a placebo while the second will get the experimental vaccine. The volunteers will be hospitalized in a hospital and each will be given two doses.

What Is EpiVakCorona?

The CEO of Vektor Rinat Maksyutov recently announced a successful end to experiment with three prototype vaccines on animals. Then the company got the necessary approval from the Russian Ministry of Health to perform clinical tests on human volunteers.

The EpiVakCorona vaccine is injected into a muscle. Then the state of the volunteers will be observed during the following three, six, and nine months after the initial vaccination. The three things observed will be safety, reactogenicity, and immunogenicity.
