Brief Bio: Pete Conrad was an American astronaut, aeronautical engineer, naval officer, aviator, and test pilot who became the third person to walk on the Moon during the Apollo 12 mission. Born on June 2, 1930, in Philadelphia, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering from Princeton University despite having dyslexia.

Did you know: Despite struggling with dyslexia and being expelled from Haverford School after failing most of his 11th-grade exams, Conrad excelled at Darrow School by learning a systems approach to education, which enabled him to graduate and earn a full Navy ROTC scholarship to Princeton University.

Afterward: After retiring from NASA and the Navy in 1973, he worked as a vice president at American Television and Communications Company and later at McDonnell Douglas in various roles, including vice president of marketing and project development.
