The Supraspinatus impingement

Today's topic is very interesting and it is a new term for most of the people which is supraspinatus impingement. First of all I would like to give an overview of the topic and then I would discuss it....

First of all it is important to know that supraspinatus and impingement are the two separate words and their meanings are also separate so supraspinatus is basically a muscle present in body now let's discuss the location of muscle supraspinatus.

Scapula is a bone that is present in the body and it is usually referred to as irregular bone of body which have a medial border and a lateral burger also. At the top most part of this bone there is a muscle present which is supraspinatus and it involves in different movements of arm.

If we talk about the second word which is impingement then basically it is compression of nerve supply of the muscle. If this word is with supraspinatus muscle then it means that we are talking about compression of the nerve that supplies to supraspinatus.

Supraspinatus impingement diagnosis is based upon different testing procedures that we perform to patient and the tests are related to physical examination of patient and there is no need of any machinery to do these test so empty can test is useful for checking supraspinatus impingement.

Empty can test is very easy to perform in which we ask to patient to move his or her arm medially. If a person is feeling pain while doing this movement then it means that test is positive so there is supraspinatus impingement present and if in this moment patient is not feeling pain then it means test is negative and this is not the diagnosis.

Treatment of supraspinatus impingement involves the use of some of important modality like hot pack and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation in the affected area as well as some exercise are also recommended according to the condition of patient step by step and day by day.
