The found spaceship
This prompt about discovering a spaceship at the back of my house in the compound reminds me of one of the iconic Nollywood movies back in the days titled Labista. An elderly man was excavating the earth in his compound, and while doing so, black liquid started to flow out of the ground. Upon calling his brother to check, it was discovered that what was flowing out was crude oil. That’s an unimaginable amount of money! His brother killed him to sell the oil himself and take the money.
If I saw a spaceship buried in the earth in my compound, what would I do with it?
It’s very simple — the first step is to keep silent; I won’t announce it to anyone. I would go online to do research to see if I could find potential buyers. Of course, I’m going to sell it! Why should I channel it to the museum for what!
Selling a spaceship will be difficult as it’s not a common thing, especially in Nigeria. Only a few companies own one, and there’s a tendency that the Nigerians who would be interested in buying it would want to pay a very minimal price because they know it’s useless in my hands. But I wouldn’t fret or sell it off cheaply — I would target foreigners. I would do that through online searches and also use my friends who are in Europe to help get serious buyers.
If that becomes very hard to do, then the next option is to sell it to the museum. Of course, they have to buy it at a very reasonable amount, and I’ll be okay with that.
But come to think of it, a spaceship found buried in the ground for millions of years would be in a very bad state. Also, I think it’s almost impossible to come across that on land. Spaceships that I know are big entities, ranging from car size and above, not just small containers that can be easily buried or dug out. Anyways, nothing is impossible in the heart of assumption. So, when I get a situation like this, I will sell off the spaceship and use the money for something else. If I don’t see anyone willing to buy, then I will dig it out, break it with an axe, and sell it off part by part.

The size of the spaceship will determine if you will be able to keep silent about it or not because eventually you will have to dig it up and if it is very huge, you might need a huge cover story to tell people why you need to dig up such a huge hole in your compound and moreover, if the property you found the spaceship is located in the city, it might make it a lot difficult to keep quiet about it.
