Facebook & I
Greetings!
Many times I have sat down, thought, and imagined how bad my life would have been if I were into TikTok. I mean, if I were addicted to watching TikTok videos, it would have been so bad that I would be spending 930% of my day on that app because I've heard and seen people get addicted to it, consuming a lot of data and time watching videos and laughing out loud.
Well, it's good for me that I'm not into that, but also, it bothers me a lot how engrossed I am with Facebook. Yes, that's one of the major social media platforms that mercilessly chops my time, and many times, I feel like I've just committed a sin after spending a long period "Facebooking." I then want to delete my account to avoid going back to it. But hey, that regret disappears after a few minutes, and I find myself softly scrolling on the Facebook app again.
Some time ago, I used to delete the app to help me abstain from it, especially when I knew I had a lot of online work to attend to. But the funny thing is, I would end up downloading the app again in a short period, and I would do that with the speed of light, not even considering the data consumption. In fact, I'm using the lite version, so it costs very little data to download.
I no longer go through the process of deleting and redownloading the app whenever I want to use it. I've accepted that since it's the only social media platform I'm using and it gives me pleasure, I should master the habit of managing it well with regards to how much time it consumes. So I still have it, but I've structured it in a way that I don't get drawn in by notifications. No, I don't allow pop-up messages or notifications when a favorite page posts an update. The only notification I allow is for friend requests. I don’t use it for messaging either, since messages tend to pile up, especially because it's full of family members.
What do I do there?
Like I said, I’m not into messaging. If I get a message, it could take up to a month before I reply.
I watch videos and mostly check sport posts and enjoy the debates that follow. Come on, one of the best ways to enjoy sports is to engage with the content on social media. I'm a big fan of FIFA tournaments, whether men’s or women’s, so whenever such a tournament is happening, Facebook becomes my first home. I become very active, scrolling and getting news on what’s happening to fully enjoy the moment.
I don’t often watch videos because they consume a lot of time and data, but there are pages I’m a big fan of, so I go there to check for their latest updates. Also, I watch football highlights, especially for matches I didn’t get the chance to watch.
Do I make posts?
Not at all. It’s been a long time since I made a post because it’s very hard for me to reply to 'serious' comments. In fact, my 'active status' is always off because I don’t want people to notice that I’m online.
But even so, I still get messages, and it's always surprising.
Thanks for reading.

Well, I only use Facebook to catchup on the crime series I love watching. It is my go to when I am super bored
Yeaaaah!
Series update is a big flex on Facebook too.
I've been following up The Walking Dead spinoffs too.
Thank you
I uninstalled TikTok because I was getting addicted to it. Yeah, I have a Facebook account. I only use it to check updates.
The addiction attached to Tiktok is out of this world. Not only does it take time, it sucks data too😅.
Thank you
Interesting. I haven't used Facebook in a decade that I didn't realise there is now an Active switch. Either way, FB, TikTok, and all other social media platforms are all the same to me. You can get addicted anyway and ruin your life. Good you did good for yourself.
When I hear people say they don't do Facebook, I wink😉 😂
You're very correct, all of these apps, once addicted, it's very hard to crawl out.
Thank you
