A better way of living
Let me start this article by citing an example from the early days when washing machines were becoming very popular, common, and available in most households. Back then, we saw the usefulness of the washing machine as an act of laziness and termed people—especially ladies who were using washing machines to do their laundry—as irresponsible fellows because they were depending too much on machines to do their work. Hence, we felt they were not well-cultured to the lifestyle of the people in the community.
But guess what? The same me that once criticised people for using washing machines for their laundry is now the person who's currently totally dependent on the washing machine, and there's nothing anyone can say against it that will make me change my mind. If depending on washing machines for laundry makes one lazy, I don't mind being the president of the "Lazy People's Association" because there’s no way I’m going to stop.
This brings me to the question in Hivelearners Prompt, which asked: if there was a robot that had the capability to do all house chores perfectly, would I adopt that lifestyle or kick against it?
The first paragraph should already give you my answer. Lol.
At this stage of my life, if I see a robot that will bathe me, I would get it and not mind at all. Mehn, I would gladly accept the lifestyle of having robots do every house chore for me.
I don’t know about other people, but for me, life is too jam-packed with activities to the extent that I feel the 24 hours in a day are too serious with the way they run, and it would be better if the day could have extra hours. I know what you want to say to this, but keep it.😔
So that’s it. I would love it so much to retire from work and meet everything ready—without having to feel pity for the robot that did it, because it’s not a person and not a wife that will give bombastic side-eyes after being overworked to keep everything in good shape at home. You know that situation where the woman has worked from morning till night, and when the husband gets home and starts eating without acknowledging the wife for the work done, the wife gets a bit emotional and angry? But for robots? No—they’re not humans, and you can keep them running for 24 hours.
I won’t join the people who consider it lazy or feel it's helping to do away with the kind of life we grew up with. In this modern age, technology is ruling, and the earlier someone adapts to it, the better for the person.
Just take a look at how the introduction of AI is making work easy. So because AI is making things easy, I should keep tensing my brain to get work done? No way!
No lies, the lifestyle is going to chase away the one we were known for, but that’s surely going to happen in the future whether we like it or not. It will only take time.
Thanks for reading.
The washing machine example was very good! It's not that I don't wash clothes by hand because I'm lazy. We can use that extra time to do more interesting things.
Yeahh, there are a lot of things to be done with the extra time.
For me, I struggle with time to come over here to engage
Okay! This made me laugh.😂😂
If you see a robot that will bathe you, you'll take it?😂😂 well, the truth is that robots will make life easier and that's for sure.
It seems I'm the only one that wants to have this sweet life😅
people will always object to things they dont understand, but on the long run most of them will come around in the end. truly the 24 hours in a day these days seems to be less than time needed to perform basic functions of the day. it is good to see that you will embrace such lovely development.
24hrs is running away like 30mins. Maybe the angels in charge of time have changed things without letting us know
Oga your mouth too wide. So you want a robot that will bathe you 😂😂
Your points make sense because I also agree hat the world is getting tithe point where robots will soon become family members 😂😂
The way I want my life eeeh. I want it to be extremely soft because it's obvious I'm doing too much 😅
No be only you o bro 😁
Having a robots to help us isn't something that's bad but instead something good but I will never depend too much on the robots. If I have robots I will only let it do my household chores for me and sometimes if am lazy to cook I will allow it but not that much.
Do you know what you just did?
You just told me you're a wife material 😅
Having a robots is not a bad idea instead it's a good idea. If I have robots I will allow it to do chores for me and sometimes if I see I'm lazy to cook I can allow it but not everytime. Robots has become what many outside countries are using which has become something help for them.
