Sonargaon is an ancient city of Bangladesh.
Hello friends, I hope you are all well? By the grace of God I am also very well. Several months ago I went to Sonargaon, that is, I went to Dhaka city. Sonargaon is a famous place in Dhaka city. It was once famous as the capital of Bangladesh. There are many types of houses here today. In which people live, there are many types of houses which are in abandoned condition. If you look at the houses, it seems that they are built during the Sultanate period and there are many designs in these houses. Many traces of the medieval regime of Bangladesh are found in this Sonargaon.
Sonargaon is one of the places of history and tradition of Bangladesh. Today it is famous as an upazila of Narayanganj district. It houses the Folk Art Museum of Bangladesh. The house of Bara Sardar is located here which is now known as the Folk Art Museum. Where various items are kept. During the Sultanate period, there are various things that people of this metropolis made and used. The museum is very beautiful. I went to this museum and I did not take many pictures. I am giving you the details of some of these things.
You will find various structures in Panam Nagar of Sonargaon. I like to see these structures which are mostly made of red brick. I like to see these ancient palaces or houses. I especially like to see the palaces. I remember them a lot. After entering the Bangladesh Folk Art Museum, I saw many swords. The pictures I am giving you, I also saw different kinds of furniture, one of which is human shoes known as Kharam, which are usually made of wood and leather.
I move forward and see other things. Among those which were encased in glass, I saw a snake. A snake made of clay, and some other figures, such as some human figures. There were also various small items. Many of the sea creatures that were sculpted like snails were there and I did a lot of photography there.
There I see various musical instruments. Among these singing instruments which were commonly used by the Sultani Aam were various types of flutes, ektars and other items which were part of the historical heritage of rural Bengal. With which people usually used to perform music among people. These things of Sultanate period really carry the history and tradition of Bangladesh. I also liked it a lot.
