Wow nice indepth analysis of the technical specs of the gateway laptop. I'm more romantic about it as I remember it's commercial with the little black kid asking for a gateway PC. I remember they were mostly white boxes with not much zaaz to it.

By the time this laptop was released, Gateway had really already lost their edge. But back in the 486 through Pentium III eras or so (1990-2000 or so), they made some of the best pre-built computers you could buy. The company was originally based in Iowa and the black and white boxes were meant to imitate the spot pattern of Holstein cows.
Yeah I know, they also acquired eMachines which they wanted to rent out PCs.
