I learnt how to make pasta through youtube

Social media has really transformed our lives, and YouTube is a prime example of this positive change. It’s amazing how this platform allows us to find answers to almost any question or learn about any topic we’re curious about. For me, YouTube has become a lifesaver, especially when I need to solve a problem or pick up a new skill.

One experience that really stands out is how YouTube helped me with cooking.

Cooking has never been an area i was ever good at. I have always had this mindset that females are the ones that are suppose to be very good at cooking and the don't have any business spending time in the kitchen. However, i was able to fully prepare a food and that was instant noodles and even that didn't always turn out well hehe. Most of the time my mum and sister are usually the ones that do handle the cooking at home, so I never really had to worry about preparing meals myself.

But then there was a day when I found myself in a bit of a disaster. I got back from work, and i was feeling incredibly hungry, and out of cash. No one was at home and I couldn’t buy my usual noodles from the local shops. Plus, the only food available in our kitchen where rice and a pack of Golden Penny Spaghetti. The problem was, I had no idea on how to cook these meals.

Even though i don't spend much time in the kitchen , i was still aware that rice takes much time to get fully prepared compared to spaghetti . So In my desperation, I turned to YouTube for help. On getting there, I searched for a video on how to make spaghetti and found a tutorial that broke everything down into simple and easy steps. The YouTuber used 250 grams of pasta in her recipe, but my own golden penny pasta was 500 grams, so I knew i had to adjust the quantities. I followd her steppend and used her ingredients but I added egg into my own boling water.

I also added enough water and salt based on my best guess, but I ended up putting in too much salt. The spaghetti turned out a bit salty, but I was so hungry that I didn’t care much about the seasoning.

To make the pasta a bit more enjoyable for me, I mixed in some red stew that was already in the pot and added a boiled egg. Despite the extra salt, it was filling and got me for some time. It wasn’t the best meal by any means, but it was a a good solution to my hunger problem.

This experience was a real eye-opener. It showed me just how valuable YouTube can be for solving everyday issues and learning new skills. Even though I’m still not a cooking expert yet, I gained some confidence in the kitchen and realized that with a bit of guidance from the internet, I could tackle cooking challenges on my own. I also learnt the important of knowing how to cook different meals and staying anytime my mum and sister are preparing a meal in the kitchen.

Overall, YouTube saves the day for me and turned a potentially frustrating situation into a learning opportunity. It’s actually incredible how a simple cooking tutorial can make such a big difference and impact and i am really thankful for how social media platforms like YouTube can help us tackle life’s challenges and improve our skills. It’s a great reminder of the positive impact technology can have on our daily lives,by making even the simplest tasks a little bit easier and more manageable.

Thanks for reading.
