I've always thought of myself as a pretty healthy person. I eat well, exercise regularly, and try to get enough sleep each night. So, you can imagine my surprise when I started getting sick more frequently than usual. It seemed like every time I turned around, I was coming down with a cold or flu, and even minor injuries took longer to heal. Something was definitely off, and I began to wonder if there was something wrong with my immune system.
I started researching the possible causes of a weakened immune system, and what I found was eye-opening. There are actually a number of factors that can compromise the body's ability to fight off illness and infection. Some of these causes are within our control, while others are beyond our influence.
