Industrial, scientific and technological developments (pro and con)
Lately I have been reading some things to try to understand and better position myself in relation to the benefits that technology has brought to our lives. And just as it happened with the industrial revolution in the mid-19th century, which managed to improve considerably the living conditions in the world because it brought with it - in order to improve the productivity of companies- the construction of railways, steamships, this in turn generated millions of jobs.
It also brought with it a direct impact on border policies, since in order to have more control over what enters or leaves the country, systems had to be created for that purpose. It had a direct impact on preventing the spread of diseases, because of this very border control, in short, we can say that at that time it was very important and that is why it has transcended into history.
But, approximately 170 years after the beginning of this revolution we have another reality, the emergence of a huge number of industries has increased environmental pollution, also the emission of gases that (according to scholars of the subject) are the cause of the greenhouse effect and in turn global warming and all the major climate changes that have occurred and continue to occur.
And although much is said about it, it seems that very little is done about it, even more if we consider that the main countries involved in it (United States and China) do not do much to counteract it.
What was initially seen as a major breakthrough (nowadays is seen as such) was never imagined to have such a detrimental effect on the world. I believe that these next few years are decisive for the world and consequently for humanity.
There is a great technological and scientific revolution going on right now, and it is amazing how much can be done. To have the possibility of communicating in real time by means of a video call was something that was dreamt of at some time, cars that drive themselves also in some films highlighted it, nowadays that is already a reality.
Robots doing tasks that were exclusive to humans such as learning we are also in the presence of it, virtual and even robotic pets, virtual reality even for video games that have almost completely replaced traditional games involving physical activity, you do not need to leave your house to get food because you can ask for an application and you will get it directly.
All these wonders of the Technological Revolution could be compared to what was felt at the time with the creation of the steam engines... However, I wonder, and just as the industrial revolution 170 years later has had considerable effects on the world in general, ***what will become of the world in 100 years if we add the current effects of the industrial and technological revolution?
Among other things I could say from the positive that a social network like steemit is due to these technological advances, for example, but also an effect to highlight in the area of health, there are currently children with diabetes type 2, when this was exclusive to adults, which is produced by poor diet and sedentary .
Everything has its pros and cons, the logical thing would be to look for the balance point so that it advances without causing any harm.
I leave these questions open for discussion:
Will it be possible to reach a point of balance where everyone - including the environment - benefits?
What role do you think artificial intelligence will play in the future?
Will it be possible to reverse the effects of climate change?
Will we have learned enough about the negative and positive consequences that the Industrial Revolution has left us?

According to the Bible, In Matthew 17: 1-5, was Matthew in the mountain with Jesus?

Grateful @creativeblue for this support.
The stone-axe can be used to build houses and also to destroy human heads. Most other inventions are also contradictory. We need to think, things are complicated. The problem is, many people are seeking simple solutions. "Let the rich pay it all", "all migrants must go", "all leftists/rightwings are evil" etc.
(Steam bus on Wikipedia)
This is a rather complex view of the @deathcross issue
But you're right, most people look for quick solutions to their problems, maybe that's why they go deeper, because they don't really finish solving them.
And the "migrants are to blame", "they have to leave"... well, I'm from Venezuela and I live in Colombia, so it's very good what you're talking about. Practically all of Latin America is in crisis, the corruption in the countries is an impressive thing, the politicians with their laws what they do is harm, but the people, the common people point out as guilty of all this to the Venezuelans, for example. At the time it was the Peruvians, etc... but they do not point to where they should.
sorry for the late response
I think Latin-America needs a big change, a series of revolutions or at least new governments. Something better than the "Arabic Spring". Maybe like East-Europe in 1989 (Fall of the Wall of Berlin.)
I also think that the internet is a blessing because nobody can be suppressed ideologically, isolated, cut away from the ideas of the modern world.
I have never been able to think of a Revolution without "victims" and Industrial or Economic Revolutions are no exception.
Certainly the technological revolution that we currently have opens up a lot of new horizons, but it also confronts us with new pollution problems, since electronic devices can be quite biodegradable, and the increase in communication is not necessarily a means to reduce conflicts. After all, it is possible that malicious rumors and communications manipulation favor communicational matrices that trigger conflicts.
Now, is everything bad? No, every revolution leaves some gains for the winning sides, it cannot be denied that since the 18th century there were considerable advances in medicine, public health, medical care, knowledge of agribusiness and many other benefits. Also today, there are benefits derived from technological advancement that cannot be denied.
I have the expectation that the benefits will be harmonized with the losses, because otherwise, our entire civilization would be in serious trouble.
Professor @pedrobrito2004 I like many of his answers, because he does not maintain a polarized view, but rather a posture that undoubtedly denotes an opening of his mind and his understanding of the facts.
I totally agree with you, everything has its different nuances, not everything is entirely good or bad, in the human being there are both poles, and in what we do is implicit the essence of what we are.
The advances from the 18th century to the present day are undeniable, without doubt. And they will continue to come.
Thank you for your valuable commentary.
Thanks for the reply. After a few decades of life, I think I've calmed down enough to see things with a broader perspective, hahaha, I think that's a kind way of saying that I don't feel too strong to be belligerent and close-minded .
Hi, thanks for the post! I included a link to it in my daily Science and technology digest, and you'll get a 10% share of that post's rewards.

Dear @josevas217
Interesting choice of topic buddy.
I'm afraid that it would require changing mindset of our entire population. Nothing will change as long as we will think about our own lifes (and not about those who will come after us).
ps.
I've noticed that you're not reading and replying to comments :( So I'm not sure if there is any point in writting one lol .
Think about it. it's very easy to lose audience. Once people will memorize that you do not engage back - they will simply stop reading and commenting. That's just simple as that.
Solid read. upvote on the way
Yours, Piotr
Yeah, you're right @crypto.piotr as long as the mindset doesn't change, everything stays the same, or worse.
As for the comments, I'm answering them little by little.
It may take a while but I try to sit down and review them and answer them, maybe the mistake is that it is not so fast, but thanks for the comment, you are right. If there is no answer, there is a gap, there is no correspondence. Thank you for the comment, taken into account from now on.
