The speed at which the internet has advanced is incalculable because we have gone from texting photos and pictures to creating real-life impressions. People can now create impressions of what they want to be and not what they truly are.

These impressions can now pass off as real because modern-day technology has made it difficult to distinguish between what is real and make-believe.

In reality, we love these enhancements, because they can basically create our fantasies and make them true. The only problem is that sometimes we oversell these fantasies and they become a tool of pure deception.

Deception in the wrong hands is why marketing has become diabolical. People now sell "success" and omit the "process" that led to that success, because the truth sometimes can be unsellable and unmarketable. Our reality is what we want to make of it.

However, we need our perceptive filters to sift between what's real and what isn't. In this video, I also talked about the different financial situations that people try to create that aren't real.

Of course, the illusion that comes with creating better impression on the internet has gone up. Infact, this is what creates the value to gain access to audience and subsequently make money.

And we have seen social media used to oppress other.. lol. If you really look into their realities you will discover that the impression they sold isn't exactly who they are.

But it's business isn't ? And it is said that all is fair in business.

Aside from marketing and probably advertising and away from the business aspect. The mainstream aspect of the internet is enabled and enhanced for people to showcase that side to them to feels superlative. In the video, I made mention of some vivid examples. But away from this, it can also be used in a productive way for business purposes.

This impression on the internet however is base on what you want to showcase to others because not all impression we see on the internet can be used to judge them.

Well, impressions can be fake they can be also be real, I mostly feel that we use concocted impressions to cajole people or get them to buy into our ideas.

Make believe. That is the world we live in now. The internet has made it possible for people to showcase their talents and give out the behavior they want people to see and it works like magic.

The internet now has created many opportunities for business owners and given others ways to earn without working under anyone and this has proved to be beneficial.

I do agree that it is also good to know who is behind the keyboard apart from what they show online.

Impression by projection. Sometime the net has led us to inauthentic presentation of ourselves to "impress" others. Anyway, it is one of the sad realities of life. I wonder how life would look like 5 years from now.

Exactly, impression by projection. There's a lot of psychological purpose to inauthentic presentations, there are fetish reasons why people do it. Like you said, it's the reality we live in. Just like in that video, in five years I think we'll become better at trying to even create deeper impressions.

Looking deeper into what is portrayed. Finding the truth behind the illusion is what is necessary. There are just as many illusions and deceptions as there are truth on the internet these days.
But all these are still important business strategies that has enriched so many lives so it's necessary to remember that.

You're right. Most intents and impression is basically to market. People have shopped based on review, packaging and advertising, sometimes it's mostly about the money. In the end just like I talked about in the video, man's deceptive capabilities will be enhanced with the passage of time and the advancement of technology.

Instagram is filled with events of success stories and it is always easy for us to believe it because it is also what we desire to achieve. Sometimes the impression is inspiring but we often miss the time aspect which is the process to get there. People are getting better at creating the image they want on the internet and utilizing it to build the life they want.

Hahaha the impression is truly inspiring, but inspiration can only take one so far, when reality sets in, it becomes almost impossible to build strides on mere inspirations alone. Instagram itself is a place of make-believe and lacks any aspect of reality. But, it's probably just there to motivate people and create impressions.

Right, in itself is not enough to take us through the whole process. It is an illusionary platform that's good at portraying the finest elements of reality without giving us the full picture of it all. It's good when people see it for what it is, knowing that it is just part of the picture.

The internet is just a tool. People who rely on it too much in terms of making judgements about other people or their lives are doing themselves and the other party a grave wrong.

Like you said, people only sell what they want you to believe to you on the internet. But there’s a lot more to their lives aside that. After the posts, they go offline to worry about their finances, or responsibilities, academics, professional, love life, a whole lot. But nobody publicly talks about those because they’re trying to only showcase the most appealing things about them.

It really is true that until you know someone in real life, it’s virtually impossible to separate between what they are and what they’re not, based solely on the information they put out on social media. The case is especially worse for short content social media like Instagram and the likes. Places like Hive are better because people are not just shallow, but go ahead to talk about the details of things in their posts. So they provide more information with which you can get to know them better from and maybe even build connections to. But even with that, you can really tell for sure.

Places like hive, as you've mentioned are better, because you majorly have to talk about your life. Maybe your investment choices, your hobbies, job, health or even goals. There's really no room to be fake unless a person is not planning to blog, if they are, an element of the real "them" is always going to be here to be tapped into.
However it's different for other places. So unless we truly know people in reality, there's no way we can truly tell who they are.

You're very right, a happy home can be portrayed in a two hour movie or less and it all seems so easy until one enters into it for full experience. Internet has so many advantages however does not exclude the deception of an easy life
