It's been difficult to get the older generation to come to terms with the impact of things like Blockchain, AI, or crypto as an aspect of the inevitable advancement that man has to undergo.

This is because this current generation has broken a lot of boundaries and achieved things that might be deemed to be impossible 50 years ago. We can experience this with the likes of Joe Biden and Warren Buffett.

These people are old machines which makes it impossible for them to have a system that can accept sophisticated innovation.

However, this is how man is. Some of the Technological Advancements we have now are so groundbreaking it tends to bend the fabrics of due diligence. In this video, I talked about how it'll almost be impossible to create technological advancement without incurring side effects.

However, I explained that the older generation might not accept the unconventionality of these side effects and this is why we Mostly will have the older generation fighting against innovations because of the difficulties in coming to terms with the speed of change.

I highlighted the fact that generations will always remain at an impasse because of the technology advancement, as humans might tap into different fabrics due to technology and its advancement.

Humans are known to keep building things for advancement, the current tech advancement we are witnessing is only a surprise to those not paying attention and not looking beyond the present.

In order not to be left behind it is better to tap into areas of tech that are of benefit to us, I will say.

Well, some of these advancements hasn't bode well with the older generation and I feel that a time will come in the future, where this present generation might be scared or weary of the downsides to technological advancements

This thing you describe above is called Future Shock, there's nothing anyone can do about it, the world is moving fast, faster than we ourselves can comprehend.

The older generations are the ones suffering from this reality check. It seems as if the world is too advanced for them and the pace it's moving is almost too much. I think this is just the beginning of speed when it comes to the movement of technological advancements

It's a different game altogether. The older generation have to adapt or be left behind. These emerging technologies are mind blowing in the pace that they're advancing. Many aspects of life has evolved, many opportunities indeed to build what we want to achieve. Old generation don't readily fathom these things yet.

This is absolutely true, in reality, the change seem to be moving at an astronomically fast pace, it's become difficult for the older generation to cope. When you look at people like Warren Buffett and Joe Biden, they find it really difficult to understand blockchain and crypto. This is because this wasn't how the world worked in the past, and it is now difficult to realign their mindset.

Yes, they grew up in an offline world. These fast and potentially disrupting changes happening with technology will not look natural to them. Resistance is the first reaction but I'm hopeful that they will welcome it and try adapting to it over time.

Almost all of these technological improvement are disputed by the older generation, when it gets to this type of topic I don't argue too much but there's always a question I do ask, how much of this new technology is really understood. To be so particular of blockchain technology which has really been propagating and transforming economic infrastructures and business including those in the financial sector, all of this are things that is known and is something no one can stop.like you've rightly said they also have disadvantages which we all know almost everything in existence have an advantages and disadvantages, just that a point of balance must be met.

This topic is the most debated one of this days. Thanks for bringing this up @josediccus .

You're right, a balance is required, but we need to create the balance and the older generation just wants to stick to what they know and understand, thereby, stifling growth and development. I think the don't want to make any compromise, because they want to be in control of what they know and have.

It’s in human nature to try to resist change, but evolution has made it necessary for us to develop the adoption mentality when need be. I like how you didn’t ignore questioning whether we’ll eventually becoming the oldies reluctant to accepting change.

It's true. We might eventually become the oldies who we now have at the moment and that's when we get older and rhe speed of technology advancement and innovative becomes even pacier than we used to have it in our hay days. So I think it's in man's nature to question change, especially if it's mind-blowing or unbelievable. I think the older generations are the ones currently doing the resisting.

I think our situation will be different though even if we ever outgrow technology. At least we know there’s that element of becoming outdated and resisting new technological advancements. That makes us more likely to be open-minded to accept the change even if we don’t understand it.

Exactly, while we might not easily get into that state of mind, this generation already or understands the type of advancement that we might be likely to see in 20 to 30 years from now. So, it won't be totally new or different.

Everything has some side effects, we just need to see the bright side of it. otherwise, we won't be able to accept any new thing in our life.

This is why I mentioned that even progress comes with its own disadvantages.

I do agree. If I were born in the '50s and someone told me about AI, Web3, or other stuff, I will probably tell them it is sorcery.

Explain to me how a computer can create whatever I want with my instructions. Super shady, right?

Exactly, that's the way to put it if you ask me. I think in 2120, the technology we might have then too would be so mind-blowing, even us in this generation wouldn't be able to fathom or predict it, or even agree that any of that's possible

I don't even want to think about it. The advancement in technology is mind-blowing.

I have been... Sigh good thank you. I hope you are too.

This is true for every technology, there must be side effects no matter how good it's. We need to accept that no machine is 100% efficient

It's tough but it reminds me of Warren Buffet. He rejects any and all technology until it meets his own standards. His standards on why he hates crypto just don't make sense to me because he isn't even trying to understand it.

I think that is dumb and that is leaving a lot of knowledge on the table to make life easier. It would be dumb to throw away things like videos because they didn't come from a news station.

Unfortunately there will always be generational conflict when it comes to adopting new technology and ways of doing things. What will be interesting to watch from here though is how that changes due to the fact that technology is advancing much more rapidly now that it was before. It's exponential. Meaning that if you are younger or up to date with tech right now it will be easier to keep up because you are used to the pace of change rather than it feeling so drastic.

Well true. Being younger and experiencing this exponential change makes it even easier. Being an older generation makes it harder because coping and adjusting to the speed of change is what the newer generation knows how to do better

Exactly. I think how about my father went from using the typewriter in school to now having a smartphone capable of pulling up any information you need and it seems wild. My tech journey started with the beginning of the internet so in a way I feel as though I've grown up with it.

Exactly, sometimes, it'll seem almost unreal and unbelievable for your father, but the thing is that, if he understands that advancements are happening at an unbelievable pace, it'll help him get into that frame of mind
