What is happening on Mars

The latest we know about the red planet is that a somewhat peculiar solar eclipse has occurred, rather it would be a transit, I'm talking about what the Perseverance Rover captured from the surface of Mars on February 8.

It was the transit of the Mars moon Phobos in front of the sun, Phobos is irregular, it is 27 km long by 21 km wide and 18.5 km high it orbits only 6,000 km from the Martian surface, which makes this moon on the satellite closest to its planet in the entire solar system.

For humans who reach Mars, seeing phobos will be a very curious sight because it will be like seeing a mountain or a floating island passing over their heads.

And this photo is the last image that we will see of the Robert Ingenuity, we see the small helicopter drone resting on a dune. It has been there since January 18, at the time when it suffered damage to one of its blades, it is a breakdown that prevents it from fly again

Despite this ending, the aircraft's mission has been a total success. Its mission was scheduled to last only 30 days, but it has lasted almost 3 years. In that time, the helicopter has taken off 72 times, with a flight time of 129 minutes and traveling about 17 km 700 m.

Ingenuity is the first device that manages to fly in a directed manner in the skies of another planet, which is not easy at all since the Martian atmosphere is much less dense than Earth's, which is why ingenuity is very light, it only weighs 1, At 8 kg its blades were large and rotated much faster than those of drones here on earth.

This is its last image. Let's hope that the next time a human sees ingenuity it will be an astronaut on a space archeology mission.
