The super earth that was destroyed.

The super earth that was destroyed.

What would have happened if there was a planet between Jupiter and Mars, that is what the astrophysicist from the University of California Riverside Stephen R. Kane wondered, for his experiment he placed several theoretical super earths and calculated that it would have happened and the results are not good for the earth.

In some cases our planet would end up thrown out of the solar system, in other cases it would be even worse, it could fall towards the sun or end up crashing into another planet or in such an elongated orbit that it would create extreme weather with very harsh and long Game-style winters. of thrones.

Even so, there is a small possibility for this, the mass of the super earth had to be reduced and placed directly between Mars and Jupiter, with that option it was possible for the planet to remain stable for a long period of time, but small movements in any direction and things would go very badly for our planet.

It is possible that in the past a super-Earth existed between Mars and Jupiter and ended up being ejected by the gas giant, we don't know, but what has become clear with this study is that the planets of the solar system remain United in a delicate order and balance, which is especially beneficial for the earth to have stable conditions and therefore life could arise and develop on it.

According to researcher Stephen R. Kane, our solar system is more in tune than he had appreciated before, everything works like the intricate gears of a clock, but if you add more gears to the mix, everything could break.
