The fate of the space station.
The fate of the space station.

The space station is already sentenced and NASA already hired SpaceX to build a special ship to push the international space station towards its final destination, towards Point Nemo in the South Pacific and SpaceX in its latest statements made it clear that it was not going to be ready before 2028, so Elon Musk's latest statements to do it in 2027 do not make much sense, unless he takes out the whip and starts hitting his SpaceX workers to make them work faster.

Pushing it up, to a higher orbit, that was proposed by some experts and leaving it there as if sealed, as a kind of space museum for the future or possible use in the future for other things because the facility is already aging and there are problems, and there are failures and it has its limit, that was what they proposed, but I don't know how to finish the matter once the ship is built, it can be used for both functions or pushed to a higher orbit or dropped.

A decision would have to be made, because here we are talking about the participation of the United States but the international space station there are more nations here there are more people who have to decide how to manage the issues that occur on the space station, it is not an exclusive property of NASA, I will take it to a higher orbit in my opinion, because there was also another researcher out there who said that perhaps it was dangerous due to the issue of the bacteria that has mutated on the international space station, bacteria and other microorganisms.

Would be great to see them move the ISS to a 100 year orbit, still decommission it but keep it for Space Tourism. It is possible to save such a historic part of human expansion to space, why not at least try?
Of course, whatever is cheaper and less harmful.
greetings
ISS is scheduled to be de-orbited in 2030. This has been planned for a long time, and there are currently no plans to make it happen sooner, no matter what Elon says.
If so, unless something unforeseen happens.
Greetings
If something happens to deorbit it ahead of schedule, we won't be likely to have much control over how it happens.
