The Betelgeuse Occultation.
The Betelgeuse Occultation.
On December 12, the red giant star Betelgeuse, which is in the final phases of its life and when it dies it will do so as a supernova, was eclipsed by the asteroid 319 Leona, which is about 70 km in diameter.
The topic is being investigated, I suppose we will have results on both the shape of the asteroid and Betelgeuse shortly.

Oh wow, Betelgeuse must be a very big star compared to our Sun. It's fascinating looking at the visible stars at night and imagining them being their own solar systems. The universe is really really vast!
That's right, we don't know if it really is infinite.
That will be hard to tell but I won't be that surprised if it is, especially according to our perspective.
