Mars already has quite a few mysteries on its surface, but the interior is giving us even more surprises. There is a new map that details the gravitational anomalies on Mars. The image above is the North Pole and what is drawn are areas of more dense areas that scientists cannot explain, specifically they are 20 spots denser than the rest of the material.

In the upper left corner is Mount Olympus. If we put it in the center of the Iberian Peninsula, it would occupy almost all of Spain and the other three points in line are the great volcanoes of Tharsis. Mount Olympus is about 22 km high. Other references say 24 km, but what has been discovered is that under this area there is an enormous column of magma, and the dimensions are enormous, rather than a column it has the dimensions of a small sea because it would be 1600 km long. diameter, a sea of magma.
