Scientific curiosity; Elon's Optimus
Scientific curiosity; Elon's Optimus

It is confirmed that the Optimus that was seen a few days ago in this presentation was actually the presentation of a completely autonomous robotic car, it does not have a steering wheel, it cannot be driven, you can simply ride it and it will take you to the place you want. that you have marked.
I understand that he wanted to paint a utopian future, but in reality some critics say that be careful, this could lead us to a dystopian future, that is, the opposite, because they sell us the idea that robots will replace humans in those times. more painful, toxic or dangerous jobs, but Elon Musk presents us with a different reality. He literally said in his presentation speech for Optimus that “you will be able to do everything you want, be a teacher, take care of your children, take walks outside.” "Dog cut the grass, do the shopping, be your friend."

I agree with you. But probably this future is unavoidable. A company selling robots only for dangerous jobs would never be profitable. If you stop this current development, you need to stop capitalism. I don´t like it but is there a better choice? If e.g. one country creates restrictive laws against robots, the companies will go to other markets.
BTW, lawn mowing robots are in place since years already. For this you don´t need an humanoid shape.
Technological advances are inevitable and unstoppable, and as always the legislation of these technologies will be very slow, until "anomalies" occur that make them more restrictive.
Companies are going to play with that as always, and they adapt to it.
As my statistics teacher says, "most likely, who knows."
greetings.
