According to the results of a preliminary analysis, due to the deviation of the real parameters of the calculated impulse, the ship changed to an orbit not planned and ceased to exist as a result of a collision with the lunar surface.

A specially formed interdepartmental commission will deal with issues of clarifying the reasons for the loss of the moon 25.”

The Luna 25 mission was launched on August 11 by means of a Soyuz II rocket from the Bostotching Cosmodrome located in Siberia more than 5,550 kilometers east of Moscow near the border with China.

The ship should have gently landed on the lunar surface on Monday, August 21, and should have been the first ship to reach the South Pole of the moon, a region that is still unexplored.
