Perihelion of 3I/Atlas with respect to the Sun has arrived

The day has finally arrived, the interstellar object 3I/Atlas has gained a lot of attention from the scientific community and the general public in recent weeks, and it has given what you are talking about, its previous observations showed that it is extremely large, although it is very difficult to determine its exact size, estimates suggest that it has a diameter greater than 5 km.

It also has an incredibly high minimum mass of 33 billion tons, 1,000 to a million times greater than 1I/ʻOumuamua and 2i/borisov. Scientist and Harvard professor Avi Loeb claims that the interstellar object could be non-human technology, NASA and part of the scientific community do not agree, the comet is the third space rock observed traveling towards our solar system from interstellar space after 1I/ʻOumuamua in 2017 and 2i/borisov in 2019.

Although Avi Loeb maintains that it could be old technology, here's what we know so far. On July 1, the Atlas research telescope recorded the comet moving through space at an impressive speed of 210,000 km/h; at the time of its discovery it was approximately 670 million kilometers from Earth.

Within 24 hours astronomers confirmed that 3I was an interstellar object, they knew this due to the comet's trajectory. Or alien ship. Who am I to say what it is? The fact is that the object travels in a hyperbolic orbit, which means that it does not belong to the solar system, it comes from very far away from another star in another planetary system.

As the heat of the sun approaches it begins to release gases and in those vapors, astronomers are finding something incredible, familiar chemistry, water, carbon dioxide, compounds common in comets here, proof that worlds similar to ours are probably common throughout the galaxy, but not everyone is satisfied with the simple explanation, Avi Loeb, known for pushing the limits, posed another hypothesis, and if 3I/Atlas was an alien mothership and if its passage by the sun had been planned for hide their activity and if invisible probes were being released at this very moment.

Among them, the fact that the comet has a planned trajectory that is unlikely to occur naturally, that it contains more nickel than iron, that it comes from the same spatial area as the Wow! signal, that it has a strange cometary polarization and that it has an anti-tail. Right now, as you read this the 3I/Atlas is hiding behind the sun, becoming impossible to observe, we will only see it again at the beginning of December and until then the question remains open in the sky. What if this time it was really a non-human technology?
