Latest discoveries on Venus

Earth's sister planet.

Venus is one of the most interesting targets to explore, not only because it is Earth's sister planet, but because it can share similar destinies, much of what happened to Venus can happen to Earth; I am also convinced that in the distant future when our descendants begin to travel to other stars, the planets that are going to be terraformed will be quite similar to Venus.

Venus is a planet where its atmosphere is basically made of CO2, Mars has an atmosphere that is basically made of CO2, obviously the atmosphere of Venus is infinitely thicker and tense than that of Mars, which is very thin, but the composition is dominated by CO2, The earth in its origins was a planet where CO2 reigned, there was hardly any oxygen, the first forms of life that emerged were when there was CO2 basically in the atmosphere, therefore it is very possible that rocky planets like the Earth, at least in their initial evolution is to be planets with CO2 atmospheres, so we have to learn to control CO2 and especially right now with the issue of climate change, if we manage to control or reduce it, it would be a huge advantage, an advantage that In the future we could apply, for example, to Venus.

The last we know about Venus has been given by the Japanese space agency, they have announced that they have lost contact with their spaceship that is on Venus, the Akatsuki, it was the only ship that is on Venus, unfortunately it no longer works, it is a shame because Venus is a very interesting planet, not only for a distant future, not only for terraforming, not only to know what happened to it and what can happen to the Earth, but also to know how planetary atmospheres work, with which If we know how Venus's atmosphere works we can also learn how ours works.

The first planet that we have to learn to terraform and take care of is our own, because if we do not know how to take care of ours, if we do not know how the atmosphere of our planet works, if we do not know how the biology of our planet works, if we do not know how to maintain it alive, how are we going to terraform other worlds, it is very important to explore Mars, Venus and know how the planets work and know their evolution.

For its disadvantage, Venus has a problem that Mars does not have, on Mars you can land easily, you can land a ship, make a robot walk on Mars, take photographs, wonderful shots, landscapes, and you have some amazing images, Mars gives a lot of play both visually, imaginatively and scientifically, but Venus is very complicated and landing on Venus is easier, because simply descending with a parachute, but surviving on it, is more complicated.

Thanks to the cartography that was done in the 1990s, plus the data that has been obtained from the Venus Express Probe of the European space agency that studied the planet Venus for several years and everything we know about the surface of Venus is thanks to radar, to radar waves; It has been discovered that Venus has volcanic activity and researchers are even considering that it may have as much volcanic activity as the Earth, which makes it even more similar to our planet, Venus is demonstrating that it has an active geology that is not geologically dead and It has volcanoes and is quite active.
